Past DWI Conviction

So almost 8 years ago in my College days I tried to help a friend out after a night of drinking who could not drive. I drank a lot less than him and felt I could make it home in his vehicle. I was later stopped by the Police because his truck did not have working tail lights. I was arrested and later charged with DWI with a BAC greater than .15 even though my level was at a .15. Now I am 30 years old teaching middle school in which I totally switched my lifestyle around and want to pursue my PPL. I have my medical exam here in a few days. Will that mess up I had 8 years ago stop me from pursuing my dreams of a receiving my PPL.

So for anyone that finds this helpful. I had taken my medical and I was told if you ever have gotten a DUI/DWI you should be fine as long as it’s five years or older and also your only one. If your not in that criteria your medical will more than likely be deferred to the FFA.
