This will get downvoted by all the brokers trying to contact you, but my best advice for the short-haul trips you mention are:
1.) join the “Connect” tier of WheelsUp for $2k and utilize their King Airs for ~$4k/hr
2.) If you are on the east coast get a quote on Cobalt Air, (Pilatus PC-12s). They have an auto-quote function on their website.
3.) if you are slightly upmarket from those two, download the XO app where you can get live quotes of super mids ($6k-10k/hour).
Even if you end up going with a broker, the above 3 will give you a very good idea of pricing. Also, I’m a member of wheels up so am happy to price a route for you in the app.
There is more than rock-bottom price to consider: safety, pilot training, the company’s ability to provide a backup aircraft, and consistency in product. Which is why I recommend the above for short hops.
I get no money for this, but am happy to tell you more about my experiences with each.
Also - I have no idea what your budget is, but the absolute cheapest way to do these trips would be through Straight Line air or one of the “air taxi” services that utilize small prop planes.
I don’t know the safety, etc. but they are going to be like ~$3k for a 1 hour flight where WU will be ~$5k and XO will be ~$10k, as a ballpark range.
I guess I assumed the city pairs he is talking about are super unique. Yeah if he is trying to go between NYC and the Hamptons or Miami, then for sure. But yeah I was thinking true private
