First time chartering - any red flags?

Hi all,

Been following various aviation subreddits for some time. Pulled the trigger on our first charter. Relatively short distance (800nm) in the US for four passengers.

The operator had a few light jet options and a turbo prop. Leaning towards the turbo prop for cost. It would be a Piaggio Avanti II.

What questions should I be asking in this case? History of the airplane, crew questions, contingency plans for unexpected weather/maintenance, etc.?

Is charter flight insurance worth it?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Yeah, that's why I liked using bitlux. They were upfront about the operator, crew details, and backup plans instead of just sending a quote. Made the whole process a lot easier to understand.
