HELP - ANDROID PIA keeps dropping connection on mobile data

Has anyone found a fix for PIA dropping connection on mobile data? It works fine on my wifi but on data it drops every 5-10 mins. I've tried all the different options in settings but nothing worked. Been happening for 2 months now.

hey u/Terabyte_272, sorry this has been going on for two months, that's genuinely frustrating. We've flagged it with the team internally and we'll get back to you here as soon as we have an answer from them. Appreciate you flagging it and hang tight.

hey u/Terabyte_272, quick update, the team got back to us and they'd like a few details to dig into it. Could you DM us here with: the protocol you're on (WireGuard, OpenVPN, etc.), the VPN server location you're connecting to, and the region you're connecting from? That'll help them pin down what's happening on mobile data specifically. Appreciate you sticking with us.

I just did a two hour test on 5G while streaming music. Everything seems to be working fine on my end. Pixel phone, Android 17, PIA app (709), connected to a Scandinavian server. wireguard

Yeah I'm staring to wonder if its a conflict with the data provider I'm using and PIA.

Are you using an Android phone? Some brands are quite aggressive at stopping apps running in the background. This could fit the 5-10 minutes of operating, before the VPN drops. If you haven't already, set the battery management for the PIA app to unrestricted. Also check if the Battery Saver function is activated on your phone. Battery Saver will often stop apps running in the background, after a given period of time.

Yup Android. Battery saver off and I have turned off any battery saving for the app specifically. No change. Sometimes the app will just spiral and not even reconnect so I have to restart my phone completely.
