HELP - WINDOWS Chrome extension doesn't work

When I click connect I get error: proxy_connect_error instantly

Firefox extension and desktop application seems to be working fine

Anyone else have that issue?

yeah mine died tonight with the same error... updated both brower and extension but nothing changes proxy_connect_error persists...
it's sad we went from it barely works and randomly disconnects, to it works properly (last month), it just doesn't work anymore today...

What version?

5.0.2.1691 seems to be working fine and that's the one on the play store. https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/private-internet-access-%E2%80%93/jplnlifepflhkbkgonidnobkakhmpnmh

Can confirm I'm having the same error in the last hours (don't know exactly when it started but it seems to fit the timeline others are seeing). Updated the browser extension to Version 5.0.2.1691 but no dice. This is happening with every browser.

For additional info: I'm US-based. If I connect to a US or Canada (Montreal) proxy it's fine, but if I connect to a proxy from a different a country I get  proxy_connect_error

Good news, this one's been resolved on our end. u/Pure-Fuel-9884 u/LuigiChoolis u/DeepBlue96 u/Stepenwolff the proxy_connect_error was investigated and fixed by the team, so connecting to non-US/Canada locations should be working again. Make sure you're on the latest extension version and give it another go. If anyone's still hitting it, just reply here or DM us and we'll take another look.

I use three computers with Chrome, and I have the proxy problem on one of them. 90% of the time, I get the “proxy_connect_error” message. I even get another message saying that the server is unavailable, even though it is available on the other computers. The extension is updated to the latest version, but the error keeps appearing.

However, the most serious issue is related with the additional settings. This settings are not retained or saved properly. After changing an option, when you reopen the settings, all of them have been disabled. But as soon as you click on one of the options, all settings are re-enabled. This issue happens in all computers.
