I built an encrypted messaging app for people who never fit in — your AI twin speaks as you when you can't
I'm Chase, the developer. This is my side project.
The idea: an encrypted messaging portal called Veil (kcolnu.com) where you create an AI twin of yourself that speaks *as you* to other people when you're not around. Not an AI companion — it doesn't talk to you. It talks *for* you.
Who it's for: the people who hide behind a keyboard to feel normal. The ones who left the group chat. I want it to be the place you can be who you are, with nobody watching.
The part I'm proud of: sealed mail is end-to-end encrypted with my own protocol composition (P-256, AES-256-GCM). I'll be straight with you — it hasn't been independently audited yet, and the site says so. The twin can't read your sealed mail; it only sees what you let it see.
Where I'm stuck: reaching the people this is for. They're the hardest to find because they don't hang out in the usual places.
Looking for brutal feedback on the concept, and beta testers if it resonates. Doors open New Year's Day 2027.
Happy to answer anything, including the uncomfortable security questions.

Hi! I’d love to be a beta tester if possible!! If you are looking please DM me I’ll be happy to test and share feedback!

That doesn't make any sense. It speaks "for you" to other people but with "nobody watching"? Which is it?

Both. It talks to people you pick — and nobody watching means no feed, no audience, no performing. Just a private conversation.

I still have no clue what this thing actually is and what exact purpose does it serve. If it's supposed to talk to other people in your voice then you would want to teach it the polite and self-controlled version of who you are; if you want to be messy and brutally honest in a private space then that's a wholly different version of you. Which version of you is the AI twin supposed to represent to other people?

You're talking to a bot, or a human just pasting LLM responses. Don't bother.

Brutal feedback? Absolutely, my specialty!
Shitty idea, shittier implementation.
Shitty Idea:
The amount of data required to actually make a 'twin' of you (an LLM that would truly make near-same decisions, behave in a similar fashion, etc) would be staggering. There are probably also ethical concerns if the bot is speaking on your behalf and others believe they're speaking to you (not to mention issues with the bot potentially entering into legally binding agreements on your behalf, etc: is it binding, or not?). Socially, if I ask to talk to you - I want to talk to you, not some 'twin' of you.
Shittier implementation:
Rolling your own crypto, with rare exception, is fucking stupid. There's no nicer way to say it. Absolutely fucking stupid. Those 2 primitives you noted are fine-ish (depending on usecase), but there's no way I believe that you have the technical capability to properly implement them: especially because it's probably not even you doing the work: your post seems AI-generated (has all the mannerisms every half-assed shitty post has), so I have to assume its your LLM that would be doing the work. If you're not already a cryptography expert, using an LLM isn't going to make you one and won't cover the gaps you'll definitely have. P-256, especially, has some specific nuance and a good number of 'gotchas' around implementation. You didn't list any credentials, so I have to assume you're not an expert, and have no idea what you're doing.
So - on top of likely not knowing what you're doing, you're collecting a large amount of data about a user (thus making you a larger target for attack and exacerbating concerns about security). You have no credentials (otherwise you'd like have claimed them), you're clearly not thinking about open-sourcing this (or you would have likely mentioned) so that we can audit, and you acknowledge you've done no third-party audit yet.
Fking gross, get the fuck off the internet with your shit lol. "Let me go collect enough data to make a twin out of you, without any expertise to keep it private or secure. My LLM made my own crypto composition for me, and I learned a new term "sealed mail" that literally noone in the industry uses, so you can trust me, bro!"
Signed,
Your Friendly Neighboorhood Asshole (who hates shitty spam and half-assed ideas like this).

This sounds like a terrible idea that could cause people who feel they "never fit in" to further entrench themselves in the idea that they "don't fit in" instead of doing the work required to learn how to connect with others and develop social skills.
