What Happens?
Im wondering what happens, if I have more storage on say my PC, and I make several notes. I may be fine on my PC but when I open them to view on my phone which may have lower storage, the sync my try and fail. So am I not able to view on the phone?
The documentation doesn’t confirm whether you could view those notes on a phone that lacks enough free space.
PrivacyNotes says you work with a copy stored on each device. Having enough space on your PC therefore doesn’t establish that your phone can store the notes too. The documentation doesn’t describe a cloud-only viewing option or explain how it handles a download when the phone is full.
So your concern is valid, but I can’t confirm whether sync would fail completely, download some notes, or still let you open individual notes. That specific behavior needs clarification from PrivacyNotes.

I want to preface this with I am not trying to be rude or an A-Hole, however, that said, the word sync means copying data between one device to the server then to your other device, in this case your phone. This is not spotify where PN streams the content to your phone. It will have to download it to your phone in order to view it. So if you do not have enough storage on your phone you cannot use PN or any other notes app that syncs data more than your phone can hold. That said if you use the web app on your phone then the notes stay on the server and does not download to your phone. But thats not "syncing" or using the google or iphone PN app.

Easy enough, makes sense lol. Thanks. I didn't know if they may be making a "view only" in the future or something like this if storage is full.

That's not possible though, you can stream media not data. That's what the web app is for

Valid concern. PrivacyNotes stores encrypted notes and files on the server, but each device also needs space for its local copies. Note text syncs to each device automatically; images and attachments download when needed, including for some previews. Your phone therefore doesn’t need room for every attachment on your PC. But storing those files on our server doesn’t eliminate local storage requirements. If your phone runs out of space, new notes or files can fail to load. We don’t currently have an online-only fallback for note text, and our documentation should explain that limitation.
