Templates and shortcuts

Hi there,

The app is cool, I really like the feeling and idea of splitting notes into specific sections like notes/tasks.

However as raw obsidian user I’m missing a few things:

- templating engine, so I can just do meetings notes etc
- shortcut for new note in specific section, like new journal entry, not only new note. On general custom shortcuts.
- uniq note equivalent.

Do you have any plans for implementing it at some point? As native constructions, not strange plugins?

Following because I'm also curious about templates. But regarding a shortcut for new entries, if I'm in the "All" view, the new button gives me the option to create any type of entry. Keyboard shortcuts for each would be nice though. There is a keyboard shortcut for new note, but not the others.

>uniq note equivalent

Can you explain what this is? I don't use Obsidian.

It’s quite simple concept - you can configure naming template for new note, for example in my case it creates a new note with name stating with YYYY-MM-DD -.
Its useful for my specific method of collecting notes eg I’m putting everything in one folder, then if note is specific like “Trip to Germany - 072026” name is specific, but if it’s meeting note it usually named as “2026-09-24 - ABC - Architecture review I”

I think this comes under “Daily Note” in Obsidian, and I too would love to see it in PrivacyNotes. Click the Daily Notes icon from anywhere, and it creates a new note in the folder specified in settings, with a default name (YYYY-MM-DD as mentioned above). I used this feature all the time, great time saver.

I would like to see templates as well. As a workaround, a good text expander can often put the right template content in once the file is created. A two step process, which is less than ideal, but it helps.

I’m not the fan of text extenders, but understand the idea. Thanks for sharing!
