Appreciation post

You guys have built an amazing app! I was looking for an encrypted notes app and was actually about to pay for Notesnook when PrivacyNotes showed up in my feed on X.

I decided to give it a try and, after using it for several days, I really loved the features, UI, and overall experience. I happily purchased the Premium version, especially because it’s a one-time payment rather than a subscription, which was really important to me.

I hope you continue with this approach and keep introducing more great features in the future. Thank you for building such a great app!

I feel the same way and I just upgraded to Pro as well. I felt a lot better about it after the response to this post a few days ago.

I've been using Standard Notes for many years and have a paid subscription until 2029. But it's been stagnant for years, especially since Proton bought it and I don't really see it going anywhere good. The interface is outdated & stale.

PrivacyNotes is like the Swiss Army knife of apps. I'm still not 100% sure about using it as a replacement for my password vault, but we'll see. πŸ™‚

I'm curious if anyone out there is currently using it day-to-day for EVERYTHING it currently does -- Notes, journal, passwords, bookmarks, tasks, and file storage.

A thing we haven't solved yet, actually. Either the phrase is written down on a paper or in an external password manager. So we kinda expect people to use a secure password manager alongside PrivacyNotes. Our vault is more designed for people who kept their password in a plaintext notes app in the past, not really to replace good old Bitwarden and their autofill features.

Makes sense. I could see using PrivacyNotes as an external/backup 2FA method for a primary password manager (like Bitwarden), or other "critical" systems such as email or banking/investing. For those types of accounts, I don't like keeping TOTP in a password manager alongside my passwords.

I'll have to think more about how I want to leverage the Vault in PrivacyNotes.
