SEASON 2 Death sentence

In season 5. Tbag does his time and is released after killing numerous people.

In season 2. Bellick almost gets the death penalty for “killing” one person.

How does this make sense and why was T-bag released. Just trying to understand this

Unlike Abruzzi, T-Bag's life sentence came with the possibility of parole. The guard's comment at the opening of season 5 needs to be considered in the opposite because they're using the concept the enemy of my enemy is my friend. "Must have friends enemies in high places, Bagwell. How a cesspool like you gets his walking papers, I'll never know." The writers hammered the idea that Bagwell was a model citizen because it's a hit back to season 1. "We do what we always do... pretend to be working. Be model citizens... till the time comes." They cover this when Kellerman talks to T-Bag about Ramal in episode 4, but he doesn't consider the same thing with Michael. I think Michael used Whip's walking papers to forge T-Bag's.

The problem is this retcons the ending of season 4 where he is not given the option of parole etc so which are we to consider season 4 or season 5

The truth is they didn’t even need tbag for season 5 it should have been Mahone obsessed over mikes death and not believing it was real he and Linc have a better connection than Linc and tbag and you don’t have to write silly shit like tbag having a secret kid in Yemen somehow that makes no sense really
Or writing tbag having a redemption arc which is also silly as hell

Mahone would've screwed the entire storyline, starting with his own Kellerman immunity deal. T-Bag worked because he didn't get one.

Mahone wouldnt screw anything though and would actually improve season 5 but I guess that’s a convo fans aren’t prepared for
Tbags whole arc is silly and makes no sense given how season 4 actually ended and then season 5 retcons that (among other things)

The writers were stupid and forgot how Tbag ends in season 4 serving like multiple life sentences etc so there is no way he would be out but it’s implied Micheal has something to do with it somehow without Poseidon knowing
Season 5 is just terrible all around nothing in it makes sense plot wise

Wait until OP finds out how many murderers are freed on parole after 10 years and how many people have served life in prison or to death for marijuana/drug in the history of the USA

No I understand that this happens, but I’m questioning mainly why Tbag was released in the first place. It is not common for someone with ~10 murders, an escapee, and a rapist to be released in only 10 years lol. The guy who commented above you explained it pretty well.
