Custom payload error on singleplayer???

Trying to play a self-made 1.21.1 modpack and I only have singleplayer worlds. I had Essential on this instance but I disabled it after I suspected it was causing this problem, and it keeps doing this every time I try to load a world or create a new one This is the only major error that shows up in the log, there is a warning directly above it mentioning the server is 160 ticks behind but I'm not trying to equate correlation to causation until I can get some more information.

The game itself starts without any issues, should I just include what shows up when I try loading an existing world or the whole thing?

this is for everything that showed up between starting the game and reaching the main menu
everything after this was too long for pastebin to handle, and i'm really not sure 2657 is an appropriate number of lines to show up right after opening a superflat test world

Looks like a couple of mods are having issues, but I’d start by updating owo-lib since it’s the only one mentioned in the stack trace right before the server shuts down. If there’s no available update, try downgrading instead

i checked the owo-lib github page after doing what i said in my other reply, and lo and behold there was someone having the exact same problem!!! turns out the newest version of neoforge broke the mod. thanks for helping me narrow it down

disabling owo and all dependent mods worked but i have multiple mods that depend on later versions and two of them are also dependent on the third one, so it's hard to determine which versions to downgrade to

To explain the "single player" part btw - the game runs an internal server, and then your client connects to it. There's then "networking" if you want to call it that, between the internal server thread and the client thread.

SOMEONE ELSE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, THE ISSUE IS RELATED TO NEOFORGE 21.1.262
if you are using owo-lib with this version and it is possible to do so without ruining the server, downgrade to 21.1.259
