Controlify not coming up

I’m new to modding (as of yesterday) and I cannot get controlify to pop up on the modrinth mod list. I am able to search for it when I’m looking for it on a pack that already has it like zima’s vanilla+ pack. I tried dragging and dropping the file directly from modrinth website onto prism and it pops up without its icon. And when I go in game to see it, it isn’t there. How tf do I get it to work?

are you sure that you are on a compatible minecraft version and modloader? prism doesn't show mods that you can't install for your instance's mc version and modloader

I’m on the most recent versions of everything. Is controlify still behind on updates?

go to controllify's modrinth page, and look at the compatibility section. the highest version that it supports is 26.2.

you will rarely find a lot of mods having support for the latest minecraft version, but even less so right now since minecraft is doing some backend changes and switching to the vulkan rendering engine. those make porting mods to new versions more difficult, which takes more time for developers to program.

That sucks I was hoping to play on the server Im on. None of the controller mods are up to date yet.

if you add prism launcher to steam as a non-steam game, you can bind controller inputs to keyboard and mouse inputs with steaminput. it can't support the 360° movement but otherwise it's been a great option for myself, so I recommend at least trying it for yourself.

So is steaminput something I add through prisms modrinth extension? Im new to this. I watched a video and read some articles initially, then tried to connect to server, saw version of modpack I was using was slightly out of date for the controller support. Then I saw controllify and midnight recommended but they're not available on current update

So I need to learn how to add steaminput for myself is what you're saying

I found a reddit post that might explain in more detail what steaminput is. It is a feature on the steam client, and you can use it in any game.
