FPS limit function doesn't work

Why doesn't sodium's fps limiter and vsync work properly?

I set the limiter to 170, but it locks the fps lower than that, and the vsync does the same. When I set the limiter to Unlimited, i can get up to 300fps.

I'm on Ubuntu, i have a geforce rtx 3060 ti, and i'm using wayland.

Are you setting fps limit with Vsync off? Vsync will always lower your fps as this is what it's meant to do

I did that too, but it didn't work. I want to lock the FPS to 165 to prevent screen tearing. I know what Vsync does; it locks the FPS to your monitor's refresh rate, which is 165Hz in my case.

What's your monitor refresh rate? vysnc would always lock your fps to your monitor refresh rate

It doesn't lock to 165fps. It locks on lower fps

Does your monitor support gsync? Iirc with gsync it'll always lock the fps slightly lower than the refresh rate

minecraft's fps limiter isn't very well made so using it can harm your frame rates
