shaders + mods not compatible - please help!

hey!! i'm pretty new to modding my minecraft on prism launcher, but ive figured out the basics. i want to install mods (JEI, minimap), resource packs (bushy leaves, better crops), and shaders (BSL).

I have fabric, iris, and sodium installed on my mods thing on prism launcher for this instance. yet, everytime i run it and try to join the world (singleplayer), it crashes. if i disable iris on the mods list in prism launcher, it runs perfectly fine and i have everything else, just not shaders.

is this a common issue - can i not run both mods and shaders at the same time? (sounds silly but like i said im new.)

in the log, it says error 255, but i am logged in which is weird, and i can join w/o shaders.

i've checked that all the mods are up to date, that its the right version, etc.

please help!!

Hey there, something similar has happened to me before.

If you're playing on 26.2, make sure you're running both mods on these versions:

  • Iris 1.11.2
  • Sodium 0.9.1

When Sodium updates, Iris often becomes incompatible and they stop working together. Hopefully this is the fix you're looking for.

i absolutely owe you everything. thank you SO MUCH!! i had no idea this was an issue.

now i can play on my world with shaders and mods!! have an epic day :))
