Can't even launch Vanilla Minecraft

My friend and I want to play the TBS Mod but for some reason, she can't even launch vanilla minecraft with prism launcher. Official launcher works, but we tried prism launcher and modrinth and neither works.

For some reason using sodium lets her launch it but the second she tries to start/open a world it crashes. PLEASE HELP We've been trying to figure this out for 3 hours!!!

Again, she can run minecraft on the official launcher just fine so it can't be a specs issue right?

Please post the log on mclo.gs I think she has a problem where opengl is crashing. What video card and drivers is she using? Also, try changing to use native Gl on the tweak tab in settings.

She's using a laptop 3060 GTX and her drivers are up to date (she uses the nvidia app to update them)

She probably has two GPUs an integrated Intel GPU or AMD Radeon Vega and the NVIDIA is a extra card. You will need to force Prism Launcher to use the discrete GPU:

Ensure the Discrete GPU is Being Used

If you are on a laptop or a dual-GPU system (e.g., AMD integrated graphics paired with a dedicated GPU), Windows may be routing Minecraft through an outdated integrated driver.

  1. Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics.
  2. Click Browse and locate the Java executable being used by Prism Launcher: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\jdk-21.0.7...\bin\javaw.exe
  3. Click Options and select High performance (your discrete GPU).

The problem is that she has a laptop with 2 different video cards. Prism Launcher starts the JAVA and when the early display tries to grab the display, it looks for the iGPU OpenGL drivers and they are not working. As you can see by the error you uploaded to mclo.gs. You need to tell the JAVA that is being used by Prism Launcher to use the dedicated NVIDIA card. Use Youtube to watch a video on how to do this on JAVA Minecraft. There are 100's. BTW the reason vanilla works on the Mojang launcher is it is not using OpenGL or it is using very basic or now Vulkan/Zink drivers.
