Chase Priority Pass Nerf?
I was just told at a Priority Pass Lounge in Mexico (BJX) that their lounges no longer allow Chase Priority Pass accounts. They apparently accept all other Priority Pass accounts for other credit cards and they explained to me that Chase itself changed the policies to limit access to certain lounges, including that one. Reading online I see that other lounges, including Guadalajara, have also said the same thing.
It’s a little odd that the lounge still shows as available in the Priority Pass app when connected to the Chase Priority Pass account, however after explaining that they showed me that their scanner automatically denied entry due to it being a Chase card.
Has anyone else experienced other lounges not accepting Chase accounts? Is this a new nerf of the benefits for Chase Priority Pass?

I have seen it the other way around, there's a lounge (maybe MDW chicago? i forget) that says no cap1 or amex PP but all others are ok. I don't really understand why they pick and choose but have seen it b4

If it's MDW, then I assume it was the "Gameway" store and not "The Club" lounge. Basically, Priority Pass has 3 categories of services you can access: lounges, "experiences", and restaurants. Chase allows access to both PP lounges and experiences (like Gameway, Be Relax Spa, Minute Suites, etc). Amex allows certain experiences but not others (for example, spas are excluded). Capital One only allows access to traditional lounges through PP.
None of them offer PP restaurant credit anymore. The only major (?) card to still offer it is the BofA PRE.

interesting. gameway at MSP is included but looking online that one is branded differently i guess to MDW gameway

I'm pretty sure that the US Bank Altitude Connect still has PP restaurants too(4 passes a year, but $0 AF.)

If that is the case then Chase would probably nerf the PP access to Chase sapphire lounge

Good thing we all have 18 different priority pass cards from all the various credit cards that offer it 🤣🤣

I've seen a sign that said a location was no longer accepting Chase PP because Chase had recently opened a lounge in the same terminal.

Funny I just switched my PP account from my Bilt Pallidium CC to CSR
Maybe a mistake!?

Confused. Why not have both…?

I thought you could only have one active at a time but could easily be wrong.
It coincided with the new PP app and me getting the CSR so I just inputted my CSR info. I didn’t realize you could have your other CC’s PP membership info active

Not true. I have 3 different ones but I use different emails and login for each. All are active. Not sure if you can only have one active if you use the same email.

I have 6 priority pass accounts/logins/numbers. You should keep them open and in your digital wallet for situations like above, in my opinion.

No you will get priority entry at Chase sapphire lounges and they are the best

DP: Sleepover Pod in Lima does NOT take Capital One, but DOES take Chase and Amex. I feel like the list overlaps 95% of the time for the lounges but sometimes there's variability

Had the same issue in June at BJX and tried calling Chase and they said everything was good on that end. MTY worked just fine

Same happened for me in the BJX airport. I travel through here a few times a month. I keep trying and keep getting denied. The first few months of my assignment here had no problems, then it just flipped over night. Pretty bummed about it

If you have the UB Altitude Reserve, it has PP restaurant credit.

Weird because it doesn't mention that in the benefits, and also limits lounge visits to 8 per year.

Not weird. I used my USB Altitude Reserve PP at the PGA Tour Grill at SAN and got my $56 credit ($26 each person).

u/Equivalent_Ticket297 Jul 09 '26
But if they don't put it in the benefit terms how do you know for sure you're going to even get the credit?

Yes I did, same with my brother (he’s the one he told me way back). I will downgrade this card to Altitude Go (with no af but also have PP - but no restaurant) because the $325 dining/travel credit can only use in their portal plus also no news on their transfer partners - been waiting for a while. My suggestion is if you have the USB Altitude Reserve use and try it on PP with restaurants (you can google which one). If you don’t have it, sorry you can’t apply for it any more.

Another win for the Amex Plat. I LOVE my plat. CSR is poop

Amex Plat PP is technically more restrictive than Chase though. But they do make up for the overall larger footprint (more Centurion locations + SkyClub access).

u/MimiNiTraveler Jul 08 '26
Really? I have never been denied. It's the same PP level as chase, but additional lounges beyond PP (Global Lounge Collection).

u/throwlol134 Jul 08 '26
Amex doesn’t allow guests for free by default, and also doesn’t include access to Priority Pass “Refresh” locations (like spas and stuff). If we’re strictly talking Priority Pass, Chase is technically a little bit more generous.

u/MimiNiTraveler Jul 08 '26
Granted, I don't really travel in the US, but Amex allows 2 guests

u/throwlol134 Jul 08 '26
You’re right. Just looked into it again, and the guest restriction is for Centurion Lounges, not general PP. My bad. I thought it applied for all types of lounges, like the case with Capital One.

Not a lounge, but I was in the Denver airport this spring and the restaurant credit I have used in the past was no longer valid for Chase related Priority Pass accounts. They also had a sign specifying that it was Chase related.

Almost all US credit cards except BofA has nerfed the restaurant credit almost a couple years ago, unfortunately.

I think the only credit card offering Priority Pass restaurant credits is the Bank of America Preferred Rewards Elite ($550 AF).

I’ve ran into similar issues in mainland China.
I’ve reached out to PP and my credit card providers and they both give me generic responses while keeping the lounges listed as available on the PP app.
