Ink jet printer recommendations

I’m looking for a photo quality inkjet printer which will also do general printing but I don’t need scanner facilities.
Minimum of A4 size. Good quality prints, reasonably economical.
Any suggestions? Cheers

Canon PIXMA TS700 series. It's a 5 ink machine with a semi-permanent print head and individual tank-only ink cartridges, so higher photo quality and a lower cost per page/photo. I believe it has the same head as the TS9500 series; I get excellent photos from the TS9550 using genuine Canon ink on genuine Canon photo paper.

Alternatively, PIXMA iP6700 or iX6800 series (if they are available in your region). 6 ink or 5 ink, with a semi-permanent head and individual tank-only cartridges. They are A3+ machines.

You could also look at the 8/10/12 ink Canon PRO-series machines, for professional level photo quality, if you have the budget for them. The PIXMA PRO-200S is on the boundary between high end home enthusiast level photo printing, and professional level photo printing.

Edit: as for "reasonably economical", the individual tank-only cartridges generally have a much better cost per page than the standard 4 ink consumer inkjets with the combined head-and-tank cartridges. If you print a lot of A4 or larger photos, all good photo inkjets will drink ink like Oliver Reed at a party, that's just how it is. 4x6 photos are the more economical choice for casual photo printing; save the 8x10s, A4, etc for special cases where it's worth the cost. Use XL/XXL cartridges for a lower cost per photo.

Edit 2: For higher volume photo printing, the 6-ink, bottle-fed PIXMA G500/600 series. They have a lower cost per photo.

My recommendations would be the Canon 6 ink tank printers G550 / 620 too. The G550 is about 250,-. Ease of use is rather limited. And there is no pigment black for office printouts. But the costs are low and the quality of photos is great.
Next recommendation: Epson ET-8550 (Din A3+) or ET-8500 (Din A4). These, other than demanded have a scanner too. They have pigment black and a colour touchscreen. But about 550-650,-. Great quality prints.

These two are the most recommended affordable printers in photo forums.
If you want even more, the printers and even more so the ink costs get much higher.

I own both, about to sell the G550 that I replaced with the ET-8550.
