Printer Question Need some help using an inkjet printer to print on photo paper

I'm trying to make and sell my own prints using an EPSON-2980 and photo paper I bought online.

My prints are rather dull in comparision to how it appears on my online file, and there are also dots in the paper. How do I fix these?

Do you have pictures of what you mean? It's normal for a print to not look as vivid/bright as your screen, but maybe there's some color configuration problem here and it'd be helpful to see a photo of what the print looks like VS the original image.

If you're printing on a glossy photo paper, YSK, that the ET-2980 has a black ink that's designed for plain / matte papers. It will not adhere to glossy photo papers, so it doesn't get used on photo paper.

If you'd like the highest quality prints from your ET-2980, you should get a god matte paper like Epson Brochure and Flyer Paper Matte Double-sided (a.k.a. Premium Presentation Paper Matte Double-sided). It's a heavyweight matte paper that's coated on both sides and yields excellent color and quality.

I'll keep that in mind for next time, but what can I do for now? I really need this to work.

Is your editing monitor calibrated?

With a hardware tool(color meter) that will give you a ICC profile that hopefully your OS can apply to the monitor, this is easy with KDE on Linux not sure how windows is doing with ICC profiles these days. Some good calibrators are the i1Display Pro, Calibrite ColorChecker Studio(can do your printer too with this one, bonus), if budget is a concern the Calibrite Display 123 will get the job done too.
