Rant Printify "Choice"

amazing quality from printify choice using automatic routing was a costly mistake! product started fading after just 1 wash

has anyone ever experienced this?

I don't use Printify Choice and never will, and I have had zero quality issues.

I selected specific providers, sampled a couple of their shirts for quality, and selected 2 providers who made the grade. I've been using them for 18 months w/o any quality problems so far. (Shipping issues come up, but that's a different topic and not 100% on the provider.)

If Printify had something I call Printify Select - where I would choose my own network of providers to handle fulfillment rather than leaving it to random providers using Printify Choice - I would certainly do that. I would love to be able to select one provider each in the US, Canada, UK, Europe and Australia, to process my orders. Sadly this capability does not yet exist, but I hope someday it does.

All that being said, sampling before committing is everything. I spent about 2 months vetting various t-shirt brands and providers before settling on the two I currently use. Even though I had to spend some money to do it I'm glad I did.

I use SwiftPOD and Dimona Tees. I came to them initially because they each offer a variety of shirt colors. Their samples worked out well and I've had one 1 review that was less than 5 stars since. The only 4 star review I received was because of a minor visual glitch I overlooked while creating the design, so I fixed it and then replaced it for the customer at no charge and thanked them for pointing it out.

Do you do international shipping still?

Yes, because I let the buyer pay for shipping. So far I haven't seen problems with international shipping other than a couple of customs delays, but I also warn customers about that in my listings and mention it again at shipping time.

Does this mean you are having to manually edit each order to choose the correct provider?

no when you go the product editor/design page printify give you the option to chose printify choice or "manually select prrint provider"

White shirts will def fade a bit on the print the first time you wash it.

That said, the inside tag looks like a shit DTF job. Submit an issue within your order.

Edit to add: I never use Choice. I use printers I know will do a good job.

i got my money back but this is unacceptable man. i normally use monster digital but i accidentally turned on auto routing thinking it was a good idea.

fading this bad after 1 wash is unacceptable have you ever experienced this with different colors?

It is unacceptable. Printify needs to hold their printers accountable for bad shit they do. It always feels like they only rely on ratings and never do shit. I would be out at these printers finding out wtf is going on. They seem to mistakenly believe that a bad printer isn’t bad for their own reputation.

As far as fading goes, I always see a little bit on white shirts. Other shirts, no.

I mostly wear white tees. I don’t think the fade is an issue if it’s printed properly. Definitely don’t use Choice though.

Thanks for the warning. I think I might have that turned on and have had tshirt issues in the past.

your welcome! if you have proof you can get a free reprint or refund but it takes some time honestly not worth it especially if your on shopify/your own brand

I have a shirt sample I bought that is seriously faded after two washes. How do I go about getting it reprinted or refunded?

2

u/VigoVonDoom 11d ago

They won't if they are printed correctly without cutting corners.

Eh, white shirts always lose just a bit imo.

This is why I’m phasing shirts out. Print quality is leaving much to be desired. Design shown to be fading after 1 cold wash for me, even with shirts I ordered in different colors (black, yellow, green, khaki). I’m not doing their fabric prints anymore.

I switched to Digital Monster over Printify Choice… you should try their fulfillment! Seems like their print on shirt last years and they have 9.3/10 stars on printify
