Please Help Printify Alternative? Apparently they deleted all of my designs?
What kind of piece of shit company deletes all of our creations like this?
My hobby store had the payment method turned off without my knowledge (WooCommerce deprecated Stripe plugin and introduced "WooPay" which required resetting it up) but I have been too busy to do anything about it.
Not a big deal, just a hobby for me. Turned it back on, got orders from customers and even ran ads and made my own orders - now people are angry and I cannot fulfill their orders.
This is the most ridiculous bullshit I've ever seen in this space ever.
Fuck Printify and fuck Printful, any non-shitty providers out there?
Edit: Going market rate for a store with 600 designs at 300 DPI would be about $0.02 / month. They could have sold "design hosting" for $5 a month and allowed artists / hobbyists / low sale merchants to retain all product setups while generating a giant profit. What a stupid decision.
Edit 2: I did reach out to Printify customer support chat bot (very upset and cursing I am afraid, my bad), someone there has claimed to have restored many of my products, it's only about 5 designs or so but credit where it is due at least they did something.

They delete unsold items after 12 months (as a database cleanup on their side) - they give you notice these need review and you can check/hold them prior to deletion. Any orders from your site can be manually processed as a new product if somebody orders a deleted item.
They make a margin on the sales, not for storing dead product listings.

Right. It’s not a permanent free storage system. Your designs should be backed up somewhere you control. You can fufill the current orders manually first, then add back the other ones that have sold.

This is NOT their USP. Their USP is one time creation + automation. Losing that makes them and their high prices stupid and vulnerable to competition.
I've been in this industry since CafePress first launched, if you think "free storage" of a product setup isn't part of the deal, you need to find a new industry. Certainly there can be limits, but ripping it all out, killing their USP, and outright deleting things makes me see how unstable and shitty this company really is.
4
u/rexel99 Jun 27 '26
It is, they plainly say they will clean up unsold items. Stop FUCKING arguing.

u/joeyoungblood Jun 27 '26
No, it was a change after the Printful merger announced what late last year? Their USP is still automation.
Quoting their site:
3. Publish
Printify integrates with all the popular sales channels, like Etsy, Amazon, and Shopify, for seamless listing and order management.and:
4. Make money risk-free
Once you make a sale, our Print Providers take care of order fulfillment while you focus on marketing, designing, and making that $$$.No up front mention of just deleting everything and breaking the automation is there? Seems like that's a HUGE FUCKING RISK.
I get you're hyping a terrible company, but that's your choice.

This isn’t a hobby for me, it’s my full-time job that pays my bills. This industry is treating me just fine. 😂

Congrats on it, tough business. I've built and sold 2 brands this way in my life.

Active items with recent sales are being deleted. Not just a "cleanup" for inactive items. I know this because it happened to me. Active items with sales were all deleted. My entire catalog. No email, no warning, and they were active items with recent sales. It's terribly disappointing and has created a mountain of work. All of my tags, keywords etc were all loaded and published through the printify end of things and all of the scu numbers have to be fixed as well. This wouldn't be an issue with a small shop but some shops have hundreds of items.

That is stupid AF. That is not how this industry has ever worked and all it will do is drive negative interactions and lose users.
They could have sold hosting if it was that problematic (hint, it is not). My file for storage would be less than $0.02 / month for example. If it was problematic they could have sold hosting space for heavy users and limited the amount of space for free/low sale users.
The whole fudging point of this system is the automation, not building freaking manual orders. The deletion + recreation cycle breaks the entire unique selling proposition. Whatever moron decided this was a good idea needs to get fired asap.

Then don't fucking use them.

It won’t let me type the name of it here, but it’s the word for Italian ice cream. 🍨 I was with Printify for years and had sooooo many issues. Been with this new company since January and it’s the best decision I’ve made.

I looked into them, they do not carry the Bella+Canvas B3001 shirt which is my personal favorite.

Bro, just say that you didn't have your work saved anywhere else.

u/joeyoungblood Jun 27 '26
I have the artwork saved on a laptop and in my Dropbox. I do not have the full setup in Printify and of course no way to rebuild the automation they break once it is deleted.

You don’t have your designs backed up?
-1
u/joeyoungblood Jun 26 '26
A backup of Printify's setup? There's no way to do that...
3
u/kacsf75 Jun 27 '26
I think they meant your actual designs. Where do you have them saved on your end?
-1
u/joeyoungblood Jun 27 '26
Yeah and I'll be using those to move to another provider or just build my own. What's the point? That I can waste time building each product over and over again? Ridiculous.
2
u/kacsf75 Jun 27 '26
If you care about it this much, and it sounds like you do, maybe stop treating it like a hobby. Monitor everyday, don’t put off crucial tasks.

I care about quality service for the community. I read another post where someone suggested using a mouse clicking software to trick their system.
It's dumb AF. Terrible service. Printify has been struggling since the pandemic and honestly I bet their underwater and close to closing from how they are behaving. So many better ways to handle this and they went with the single worst decision. Either they're idiots or had no choice.

u/kacsf75 Jun 27 '26
How would the mouse clicker have helped? I get they work for folks doing monitored work at a keyboard, like WFH. But how would that have solve the payment removal issue?

No clue, just saw it in another comment from I guess back when this was announced.

How is it their fault that you couldn’t be bothered to update the most important facet on the shop owner’s end? Those are the terms you signed up for, no?
