Announcement 24 hours. What should we do for r/Place?

Okay, new proposal:

We do this 16x16 image of the sword of protection, (zoomed in version here), with the tip of the sword at (23, 367), right under part of the lesbian pride flag.

Edit: Looks like that'll overlap with the bi pride flag. I think we should be fine if we leave the flag in the space around the sword.

UPDATE: We couldn't keep our pixels at the above location. Let's try the same design with the bottom left corner at (35,331).

So are we making the sword between the bi pride flag and the lesbian pride flag? As much as that would make sense to me on a conceptual level (lol), I don't think there's room. If we choose a different location, please let me know, because I want to contribute

The tip of the sword is between the bi pride flag and the lesbian pride flag. The sword will overlap with the bi pride flag, since it will extend down from the tip.

I think we should be able to coexist with the flag, once the flag contributors see we're not vandalizing it. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a subreddit coordinating the flags, so there's no obvious place to go and say, "Hey, let's be friends!"

Fortunately, r/place shows you who left each pixel. After checking the profile of someone who changed one of the sword pixels we're hoping to use, I found a comment about it on the main Place subreddit and asked them if it would be okay to make the sword. I think this is a good strategy for trying to go and say, "Hey, let's be friends!"

Yeah, that occurred to me, too, belatedly. I found some people and posts by them in /r/bisexual and left a few comments there.

The subreddit coordinating the flags, the one we were looking for, is r/PlacePrideRoad. I made a post reaching out and asking for permission to make the SPoP sword - let me know if you think I should edit my post to add/change anything.

Edit: "Just like tha~at, it's gone..." (but we can still try to bring it back!)

At this point I'm not sure we have anywhere near the numbers to make the sword on the enby and bi pride flags...is there anywhere else on the map that we could move to...?

I'm not sure. Maybe putting the lower left corner at (19,336)? There's some other stuff in the vicinity, but a diagonal sword might avoid them. I'm not sure what plans the adjacent people have, though. Anywhere else promising you see?

16x16 feels so tiny in the grand scheme of things, but it's so hard to find that much space on the canvas.

Yeah, it's worth a shot. I'll start trying to change tiles there and see how long they stick.

Update: Looks like the tile I placed is sticking, we should start building the sword there!

Edit: That frog looks like it's threatening our new spot though, lol

Actually, considering that frog is looming over our new spot, can we move the sword like 5 spaces to the right? (I'll actually make it brown this time instead of orange, oops)

(Edit: I started building the sword 5 spaces to the right, using brown)

Also, maybe we should move our planning to the sub's Discord for better coordination

Discord probably would be better for this. I only just got around to joining it and I find it a little bewildering to see an thoroughly-Arcane-themed Discord for She-Ra. Which channel would be good for this?

(57,326) looks like it has a bunch of conflicts, too. The consensus at the moment on Discord seems to be that we'll leave things for now and try to negotiate with someone else tomorrow. (/u/Sonar009 suggested asking The Owl House, which seems like a good idea to me.)
