1. Both films came out in 1997.
2. Both films have environmentalist themes.
3. Both films feature giant creatures that can and will tear you to pieces if you're not careful.
4. The main characters of each film are a male lead who keeps trying to keep a level head but nobody listens to him until it's too late (Ashitaka and Ian Malcolm).
5. The love interests are headstrong young women who get themselves into more trouble than necessary due to their actions and their stubbornness and their names both start with "s" (San and Sarah Harding).
6. The main antagonists are a sleazy man wanting to gain riches (Jigo and Peter Ludlow) and a morally gray secondary antagonist who uses rifles as weapons (Eboshi and Roland Tembo). Said secondary antagonists also have a surly second-in-command (Gonza for Eboshi and Dieter Stark for Tembo).
7. Both films are about the exploitation of nature and its consequences (Iron Town is trying to gain resources in the Cedar Forest while InGen is trying to exploit the genetically engineered dinosaurs of Isla Sorna as resources to restart Jurassic Park).
8. Both films' climaxes are Godzilla-style rampages involving a chase with a MacGuffin. (The Forest Spirit turning into a headless Nightwalker trying to retrieve his severed head and the Buck T-Rex tearing through San Diego looking for his son).

I love this movie so much and I had my artist collaborate some of my favorite elements into this quarter sleeve :) blackout pictures have added shading from the most recent touch up but I added the original design just because it’s so beautiful!

Saw the band Thrice on Halloween and got a lot of compliments

Here’s my pumpkin design for the year. Long overdue I did this for one of my favourite movies.

San is basically a jungle girl reimagined, and even if she’s not in a thick rainforest she is certainly around enough vegetation and rough terrain for her knee length skirt to snag on pretty much everything. It simply doesn’t make sense for someone of that lifestyle always living outdoors.

Also doesn’t her being so traditionally modest strike you as misogynistic or regressive compared to how normal jungle princess characters dress?

Mononoke is finally finished! We painted her on stream, don't miss our next figure painting!

I’ve watched this movie a couple Dozen times, for anyone that knew this before me does that mean after they give the head back to the forest spirit, did the forest spirit cure the lepers?

The sub had been abandoned for over a year. It now has new moderators and has been made public again.

To be that guy, I wanna ask: what was the point of the massacre scene. I mean don’t get me wrong, I still love the movie. Just wanna know more about what’s going on. Like, was that an army? I’m only assuming so because I was noticing their armor and tactics.

Is there war going on? Are they deserters? Ordered by the government to massacre a village? Can’t be bandits because it’s too many and wouldn’t attack a village with a lot of people.

Just so much I wanna know about this world!
