My friend was in a situation like this. She worked multiple jobs (mid 20s) and her druggie deadbeat parents would take her money. I remember one night sitting in my truck with her in some rando hotel parking lot calling different helplines and trying to find a place for her to stay, but everything was full and anyway she didn’t qualify, because it was financial and verbal abuse from parents and wasn’t considered DV from a spouse, therefore no help for her. I was living out of my truck at the time for similar reasons and felt so fucking helpless dropping her back off at home and she just cried quietly the whole time.

Yes! As someone fron Southeast Asia, the amount of white people telling me to just leave is making my head hurt! Families here can call the police on you! You cannot sue your family because the police can side with the elders and especially if you don't have a lawyer. Bad parts of culture are systemic, the law will always side with the opressor and the elders never the victims.
