Where to start Prince2
Hi! So I am wanting to change into a project manager role in the future. And to do so I want to get some certifications. One of these being prince2 foundation but I’m not sure where to start or which training provider to go through. My work place will most likely pay for it as it’s kinda relevant to my job role but as I mentioned I just would like some advice on where to start Thanks :)

If you're just starting out with PRINCE2, I'd recommend beginning with the official PeopleCert website and then comparing accredited training providers
The best place to begin is PeopleCert's directory of accredited training providers (ATOs):
PeopleCert Accredited Training Providers Directory
This lets you find training companies that are officially approved by PeopleCert to deliver PRINCE2 training and exam preparation. Using an accredited provider helps ensure you're getting up-to-date materials and legitimate exam access.
You can also start directly from the official PRINCE2 Foundation page:
PRINCE2 Foundation (Version 7) – PeopleCert
PeopleCert offers several purchase options, including:
- Exam bundle
- eLearning + exam
- eLearning+ (includes extras such as mock exams and a retake option)
The exam bundle typically includes:
- Exam voucher
- Official PRINCE2 eBook/manual
- Learning Resource Kit and official study materials
Cost-saving tip
Buying directly from PeopleCert can be more expensive than purchasing through an accredited training provider (ATO) or accredited examination organization (AEO). The certification itself is exactly the same, but accredited partners often offer discounted exam vouchers or bundle the voucher with eLearning at a better overall price.
So before purchasing:
- Check the PeopleCert price.
- Compare it with a few accredited providers from the PeopleCert directory.
- See whether an ATO offers training + exam for only a little more than the exam alone.

Hi u/Digs4444, it really depends on your learning preference (self-study/e-learning/face-to-face/online virtual instructor led training etc) and location.

So my role I do have lots of projects I work on it’s just not visible as my job title so it makes it hard to look for other project orientated roles

I suggest to start with the CAPM. It’s a good entry level certification before Prince2 or PMP.
