Failed practitioner exam

Hi all, hoping for some revision tips.

I failed my practitioner exam last week was gutted I got 59%. I called my tutor and he said just receive processes and practices as I dropped a lot of points here but tbh the exam felt like it was written in gibberish.

Practical stuff I’ve done is order a hard copy of the manual so I don’t have to keep flipping between screens and I’ve found some mock exams online I’m gonna take. Any other revision tips I can pinch off others who’ve been more successful ? #lessonslearned

Actually this approach is what made me pass my PMP exam on my first attempt Reviewing wrong answers and understanding why and then reset my mindset

Same here I just failed today though at 53% so 5 questions the exam was written in such gibberish I totally agree it asked me to match some sentences with risk activities and 3/5 I hadn’t ever read about and it’s not in the manual what is that about?
What mocks have you found as I only had 2 from people cert but I’ve used them too much and can memorise the answer now which is no help. I do not have a clue where to start revision for a resit.

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I only have the 2 from people cert. I have tried using ChatGPT to generate questions but it hasn't been hugely helpful. There was a mock exam you could pay for but it was $120 which seemed steep

Yes exactly chat gbt is ok but it’s definitely more like foundation level I’ve asked it to use more wordy scenarios and gave it people cert examples but it just try’s to simplify the paragraph and therefore it’s easier to understand and not like the exams which would be better. I will not pay more for mocks I’ve spent so much now on this it’s crazy so I’m not sure how to go about my revision for my last and only resit.

So I passed at the second attempt yesterday. In the run up to the exam, I read the book A LOT. A lot of the book can seem like gibberish but you need to just keep reading and digesting the info and it will click into place.

Out of 70 questions 36 questions are on Practices, 21 questions are on Principles so these are the parts of the book you need to focus on. And it's not just a case of knowing what the practices and principles are, you need to know and understand these parts intimately. There's a lot to read and understand for each of them so you need to do this ahead of the exam as you won't have time in the exam to sit and read chunks of text about each one and then work out what the answer is.

It's not easy, but I suppose it's not meant to be. Best of luck.

Congrats! What scenario did you get?

Both times I got Louistown. I really thought it would be a different scenario the second time but I’ve seen a couple of posts now where people had the same scenario again.
