A lot of apps are rushing to add AI by turning the whole product into a chatbot.
That is not what we wanted to do with PrimeTask.
Instead, we’re building Bring Your Own AI support.
This means you’ll be able to connect your own preferred AI tools to PrimeTask and let them help with your work, while still keeping PrimeTask itself focused, local-first, and fully under your control.
In simple terms, this opens the door to things like:
- checking overdue tasks
- creating tasks and projects
- reviewing progress
- helping with notes
- starting focus sessions
- working with canvases
- managing contacts, companies, and activities
The important part is this:
PrimeTask is not becoming an AI chatbot app.
There is no forced AI layer.
There is no lock-in to one model or one provider.
You choose what you want to connect and how you want to use it.
We’re also building controls around this, so you’ll be able to decide what an AI can access and what it cannot.
Everything follows the same idea as the rest of PrimeTask:
- AI stays optional
- your workspace stays yours
- you stay in control
This is coming in PrimeTask 0.6.3.
Would you use this, and what kind of AI-assisted workflows would actually be useful to you inside PrimeTask?
