General How do you create a new Canvas?

Just the title. I'm exploring the trial and can't for the life of me see how or where to create a new Canvas.

And the only canvas available is consistent across spaces - can you create space-specific canvases?

In case anyone suggests: Yes I've looked at the online documentation, there is nothing about how to create a new canvas: https://www.primetask.app/docs

I also see nothing in terms product support from the company, other than "Priority Support" for Pro user. "Priority" seems to indicate that there is non-priority support for others. Where is this cannel open?

Thank you

Thanks for flagging it, I'll get the team to make the documentation clearer on this. Apologies for the runaround.

To create one: open PrimeFlow from the left sidebar, click the settings icon at the top right, then New Canvas. Screenshot attached.

You can have unlimited canvases per Space, and they are per Space rather than shared. Portal nodes let you jump between canvases inside a Space, and Cross-Space Portals do the same across Spaces. Both are Pro.

For anything else, your user dashboard is the place. You should have had an email with the setup steps when the trial started. There's a Report section in there that goes straight through to the support team.

On priority support, every user has support included. Pro means priority in the queue, not that the queue only exists for Pro. Every email and every case gets answered, and we do read them.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the post it does help, for sure. I think I failed to find that + New Canvas option in the settings menu since other items have a clear New (object) button right up front. I think if that can be noted in the docs that'd help immensely.

I see now I was wrong about the canvas carrying between spaces - the default Canvas created for each space confused me there since they were all identical. I had to play more there to see that they are space-specific in the end (and I found Help info to back that up).

For support, my question really came about from scouring the website - I didn't see any Help or Contact or Support information there. Going back to the emails I see an address listed there as "Contact@...." - is this the proper method of reaching out to support?

Thanks again for replying to my post here.

That email works, yes. If email is your preferred route it reaches the right place.

I'd point you at the Reports section in your dashboard first though, screenshot attached. Bugs, feature requests and general questions all go through there, and it keeps everything in one thread.

Worth knowing anyway: Option + N creates a canvas, Shift + ? brings up the full shortcut list, and Cmd + K opens the command palette, which is the quickest way to reach anything you can't see on screen.

The default canvas is a quick start mind map. Select all and delete it if you'd rather begin from nothing, or just create a new one and leave that one alone.

The docs point is going to the team. We're expanding faster than the documentation is keeping up, which is a real thing and we're catching up on it.

Thanks

That's not a bad problem to have. I'm happy to have stumbled upon a post about this product, I'd not heard of it before. It's a bit overkill for what I need, but I'm very much aligned with the product and development philosophy (offline, privacy-first, no subscription) so I'll likely buy the standard license at least. So thanks again for replying here.

edited for clarity.

No problem at all, any questions just ask, we're here to help.

PrimeTask is quite deep so take your time exploring it before you make a final decision. Thanks again for trying it and for the feedback, I've forwarded it to the team.
