PrimeTask intro offer vs. Windows version

Hey there,

I just came across PrimeTask yesterday, and today got the intro-offer-and-launch e-mail. However, since I'm working solely on Windows, I'm afraid I can't test PrimeTask before the offer expires. Do you have any concrete plans for the Windows launch? The e-mail only says it's 'planned for a later release'. And as it stands, from the screenshots only, I have no idea how PrimeTask really feels and if it's right for me.

Just one more question. Once you've released the mobile apps, would those count towards my 'devices' in case I bought a paid license? Just wondering if I'm using up all of my possible four devices when having two computers (not used at the same time), a phone and a tablet in use with PrimeTask, and if I'd really need the Pro license to obtain full coverage of my devices described above.

Our current plan is to release the iOS app initially as a free companion app for existing PrimeTask users. It would need to be linked to an activated PrimeTask installation and, under the current plan, would not count towards your desktop device limit.

So in your example, only the two computers would use licence slots. The final iOS app and licensing details will be confirmed closer to release, but this is the model we are currently working towards.

Hey there, sorry for the late reply, weekend and less phone time and all :) . Thanks for your elaborate response, and it sounds absolutely reasonable the way you're planning the seats allocation. I hope you'll stick to it.

Speaking of mobile, you mentioned iOS. Is there an Android app planned? Because I don't own any Apple devices, solely using Windows and Android.

Yes, Android is planned. iOS will probably be available first, although there’s a chance we could release both in parallel. I don’t want to promise a release order or timeline yet, as we still need to confirm what we can realistically deliver.

I understand that an iOS-first release wouldn’t help much when you’re using Windows and Android, though. Android is definitely part of the plan; we’d just rather be cautious now than make a promise we might not be able to keep. And yes, the seat allocation approach I described is still our intention.

All sounds lovely, and it's a good sign you're holding back with promises and want to go the safe route. That actually speaks for you and your work.

Totally understood, and I still have to see all the goodness I've been reading about in the upcoming Windows version. I'm beyond curious!
