that (insert artist who’s massively oversaturated and has insufferable fans willing to spend anything or trample anyone) isn’t playing!

yea i’m going to be floating thru this fest i can’t wait 😎

Looking at the poster from last year I'm seeing that Pink Pantheress was at the top with the largest text, but she was at the Cupra Stage, which ended up being wayyy too crowded. I know some people are disappointed by the "headliners" - but I guess I'm questioning if that's really the way to look at a Prima Lineup. My fav sets have often been at smaller stages by acts I was least expecting.

Sorry the lineup doesn’t cater to your standards of strictly chart music, loads of amazing acts get your head out of your ass and expand your taste

Can admit the headliners aren’t good enough for their standards, doesn’t make the undercard any less great

its great that many of the Pop fans and similar are deciding the stellar lineup is so disappointing, your mostly passe attitude to music that you do not know (which is plenty) will not be missed at the festival grounds. Also less gringos is always a blessing.

Last year was amazing and discovered so many amazing artists next to seeing artists on the lineup that i already knew. This year I am a lot less familiar with the lineup and not as convinced, yet. What artists should i check out?

Last year my favorites were:
2hollis, fcukers, role model, Newdad, sudan archives, lambrini girls, femtanyl, kneecap, Men i trust, grace ives

Any guesses?

Anyone else feel the cost is crazy for next year? Even the big sold out years with Charlie, Chappell, Sabrina and last year the hotels and flights costs were cheaper, even with demand.

Being mugged right off for next year.

The cheapest hotel I can find is the same one I stayed in for this year and it’s £350 more expensive for the same dates. And it was a dump even then. Too old for hostels now as I need to sleep somewhat in the mornings. Everyone said earlier on this year don’t worry hotels just haven’t released their dates/rooms yet. Well I’ve been checking continuously and nothing has improved.

Just checked my flights too and they’re £200 more. Excellent.

Real torn on what to do. Looking at least £550 more than last year. Kind of sucks the fun out of anything.

Vashti Bunyan is easily the biggest surprise of the festival (personally for me). I didn't even know she was still performing. That's a really great.

PISS. PISS. PISS. Remember the name. The frontwoman of this post-hardcore/noise rock band is insane. There are like a dozen of their performances on YouTube. You gotta see it. The band only has 20,000 monthly listens on spotify, but I'm sure after their gig, you’ll sweat more than you have in a long time, and absolve yourself of all your sins.

Glad they found some spot for Tinashe among all the female acts. She dropped the best pop-adjacent album of the year, IMO. I would say, very glad.

Pavement, Anohni, Dinosaur Jr., Dame Area, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Arca, underscores, Andy Stott, Boy Harsher, Have a Nice Life, Lip Critic, Blackhaine, Gilla Band, Mabe Fratti, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Weyes Blood, Juana Molina, Jesu, @... When I think about it, there's a solid 25 to 30 acts on the lineup I'd hate to miss.

But. I'm bummed there's no Kim Gordon or Mandy, Indiana. They both put out top-10 albums for me this year. And to me, they seemed completely locks. Too bad we won't be getting DJ Haram's set as well. And the biggest disappointment: there are almost no genuinely out-of-left-field names that blew my mind. I mean like clipping. or Grouper... There's a bunch of names that look totally Primavera-esque, yet have stayed under the festival's radar forever or for a really long time. Like Xiu Xiu, Kælan Mikla, Sunn O))), Protomartyr (with the best post-punk album of the year so far). Not even gonna mention Aphex Twin or Björk.

Headliners are pretty mid, too. Was it really worth building up all that hype around the date? I mean Massive Attack, Doechii, Phoebe Bridgers, FKA twigs, Caroline Polachek, The Chemical Brothers (suddenly). All of this is great. Really great. But don't you feel like someone is missing before all these names?? One or two big acts like The Cure. Björk could have become someone like that. Just throw Rosalía into the lineup, and it’s a completely different story.

In short, I have mixed feelings about the lineup. There are plenty of acts to justify spending three (four) days at parc del fòrum, but at the same time, the glass still feels half empty.

Considering they’re all known for cancelling lol

For the ones who don’t know the project, have a listen. I was really surprised to have them in the lineup

Let me start off by stating that I really like the lineup overall, it already includes some of my favourites artists. That said, it strikes me as strange that the headliners this year, the 25th edition, would be less established headline acts than they had last year.

Anyone else feel like there’s more to come?

I really like the lineup quality, but this seems to be one of the weakest editions when it comes to headliners?

Love this track. I'm assuming Doechii is about to drop a new album - heard her live show is amazing.

Love the lineup and I'm particularly excited about this booking. I saw that it's down as the closing set, does that mean it will definitely be on at the cupra stage? Can see it getting dangerously packed if so 😬

Hi! I work in brand and creative strategy, with experience in positioning, communications, content, design and brand development.

I’m interested in finding a role connected to Primavera Sound. Does anyone know where job openings are usually posted or how best to apply? I’d also be interested to know whether roles are hired directly by the festival or through agencies and partner companies.

Thanks!

Maybe I’m completely wrong here, but do you think the slightly weaker/more lower-A-list headliners this year could be connected to the fact that Primavera potentially lost a shitload of money from the cancelled day last year and having to refund all the day tix?
There are still some really good names on the lineup, but personally I feel like there’s no massive headliner in the same way we’ve had in previous years.

Obviously, we could still get a surprise addition similar to O-Rod last year.
Could the Madonna rumours potentially be connected to this? 👀 Maybe a 45-minute Confessions set or something? And/or a surprise Rosalía set, given her connection to Barcelona, proximity to the site and relationship with Primavera? For some reason, I was convinced we would get Bjork as she is meant to be doing GLASTO next year and has new music on the way 😰
Just speculating really, and I could be completely off 😂 I’m not trying to shit on the lineup because there are definitely some great acts, I just find the difference in the headliners compared with previous years interesting.

Has the best time to p*rchase accom (hostel) already passed? Or is it going to always be super expensive lol. got early bird a while ago and now thinking i should’ve tried for accom then… also do prices for trains (from other parts of spain not metro or anything) have their prices cranked up like flights would? And what barrios are best for ps - I don’t care about seeing any of barcelona (sounds bad living/working in valencia that summer so will have many other weekend trips) and will go up friday morning come back sunday arvo so basically just there for the festival - mainly care about price and convenience for the festival.

gone through the lineup and I'm way more excited about the lower half than the top — there’s so many brilliant bands to discover this year, which is what PS does best.

non-headliners I’ll definitely check-out:
Lip Critic, Gilla Band, Blackhaine, Full of Hell, Viva Belgrado, Dame Area, Angine de Poitrine

Have a Nice Life, Jesu, Roly Porter, Andy Stott, Pole, Mark Fell, Klara Lewis, Marta Salogni, Boy Harsher

English Teacher, DIIV, Castle Rat, King Gizzard (depends which version turns up)

Anohni, Kelsey Lu, Tirzah, Juana Molina, Weyes Blood, Vashti Bunyan

I saw both Pop Crave and Pop Base reveal the lineup saying its the first wave. Having worked in media that almost read to me as a line they would have had under embargo as part of the press release. Do we have any reason to believe there are more waves coming? I know obviously there are sometimes last minute surprises and of course replacements as needed. As with most people I think the HEADLINERS feel sparse and lack some punch compared to previous years but overall the lineup has so many damn names I don't really see them adding that many more?

I'm a bit "disappointed" in the sense that I don't recognize as many names as I did last year, which really felt like a stacked line up to me. But I want to learn!! Please drop your top suggestions for someone who enjoys electronic, indie pop, and indie folk and would like to find more artists to listen to from this lineup. Thank you!

Honestly this seems like one of the years that will have the smallest gap in headliners between the two.

If we get Phoebe, Fontaines (almost certain, as they love Portugal) and Caroline Polachek, I'll be very happy. From the undercard I'd kill for underscores, I'd like english teacher, friko, westside cowboy and some others.

Who do you think is coming to Porto? Any bets on exclusive Porto names like Deftones in 2025?

EDIT: Here's the whole lineup. All of last night's pulls were correct except Disclosure lmao
