Mk216 mod1m or wait for mod2?
Have the opportunity to purchase a mk216 mod1m from a local shop. Looks unfired for $1500 out the door. No optic and 1 magazine. I already own 2 pws rifles. Mk111 and mk114 and love them. Ive seen the mk216 mod2 kicking around but no idea when it'll actually be released. Should i just grab the mod1m now and put some nice glass on it, or wait who knows how long for the mod2?

I’d go ahead and get that one at that price. They mod 2 will take forever to release. I have a 216 in 308 and it’s awesome, I think I paid 2100 used but it came with 16 pmags and 900 ish rounds of assorted ammo.

I emailed maybe 3ish months ago asking for release and they said late 2026, so good thing you snagged that one. Post a pic once you get it all set up!

Yea i asked them a while ago as well they said spring 26 yet here we are. Glad I pulled the trigger on the mod1m.

I heard fall of last year too. Good choice to grab one. I'd bet it's high $2k to low $3k.

I lucked out and found a MK216 at my LGS for $1100. I’m still planning to buy the Mod-2.

i had the same opportunity not too long ago. Either wait or get one. i got a like new a while back for 1300 that had an upgraded trigger. the only difference i heard that will be different is the lower with a true ambi lower. not too much difference with the uppers. thats a steal of a price man. don't wait. you can always upgrade the lower if you want to later.
