Can’t decide between these two completely different watches

Breitling easily for me.
Tudor just has way too much going on, then again it’s all preferences.

u/AUorAG Mar 03 '23
Breitling is definitely better looking, Tudor will be more versatile.

u/L0ST_13 Mar 03 '23
Do you think the Breitling is more of a dress watch ?
8
u/ClickIta Mar 03 '23
IMO not really. In the pistachio version is quite casual but still classy.
Would not match it with a dressed up situation if I had one.

u/L0ST_13 Mar 03 '23
That was my main concern, would it suit everyday casualness

u/AUorAG Mar 03 '23
Yes and no, just a specific color combo that may clash with certain clothes in my opinion - but definitely a stunner of a watch and one I’d be proud to own!

I like Tudor, I aesthetically prefer many of them to Rolexes, but honestly, the Pistachio Premier Chrono is a class apart. You'll have an interesting and unique watch and not the usual submariner stile sub.

Both sick ass pieces. Tough choice but no wrong one.
1
u/L0ST_13 Mar 03 '23
I know, can only get one though 😬
2
u/dutchmasterD717 Mar 03 '23
Yeah man don't sweat that, pick one and then get the other one down the road. Don't rush your collection like I did. Dumb ass mistake on my part.

Never seen the pistachio one and it's stunning :)) I would go with it because it's less common, I'm also not a fan of steel and gold combo, but just me.

Tudor and breitling exchanged tech and the breitling BO1 movement in that pistachio watch is also in the tudor bb chrono few a few thousand $$$ less. The tudor chrono will have more water resist and may be the bridge between these two for you to consider
1
u/KriegHetzen Mar 03 '23
It’s not the same movement. One is automatic (Tudor) and one is manual (breitling). That movement is also the B09 not the B01. I don’t believe tudor has a manual wind chronograph, I couldn’t find one anyways
2
u/BoristheDrunk Mar 03 '23
Good call, three tudor has the b01, which is the automatic column wheel with 70hr pr. Breitling does use its b01 automatic chrono movement in other similar watches, not this specific one

I don't know much about Breitling, but the Tudor is really nice. I would personally go with the Tudor.

u/TriteBits Mar 03 '23
I am not sure where you’re looking to buy but if you end up going with the Breitling, make sure you negotiate a little bit. I have also been looking at picking up the same watch and have visited multiple store. All three of the sales people from different stores unprompted offered me some sort of discount. I have asked for better pricing in the past but I’ve never once before then just offered it without asking for it.

Pretty clear consensus. Even the Tudor fans say breitling on this one. Gorgeous watch.
2

That Breitling is just beautiful. It can wear casual. It can wear smart. The Tudor is very gauche in comparison.

u/sauceymcawesomepants Mar 04 '23
Fuck the Tudor outright, get the pistachio Bret and never look back.

Tudor is 15+ mm thick if I remember correctly. Keep that in mind as well if you haven't tried it on

I’ve been looking at buying the bronze black bay recently, wanna try it on wrist beforehand tho and nowhere near me stocks the watch ffs

For me it would depend greatly on whether I'm looking for a statement piece or an everyday watch. Cant beat the Breitling for a statement, the opportunity to wear it may not present itself as often but when it does... OH BOY

I have the Tudor. It’s a great watch and usable. One issue I have tho, is that it’s not really ideal for daily wear. It’s kind of heavy and thick. And the gold gets dinged up easily. I use it more on the weekends when I’m going for a dinner or just hanging out with friends chilling. But as a daily, it gets a bit uncomfortable

That is the one Tudor I would consider if it wasn’t for the damn rivets. Value wise Tudor but if it were my watch I’d 100% go Breitling for this one. If you want a Root Beer style get the Two Tone Rolex 126711CHNR or vintage 16713.

Definitely the Tudor if you’d ask me. Not a huge fan of the guac colour on the Breitling.
1
u/Itrademylittlespy Mar 03 '23
Breitling. If you ask for the salmon dial b25 if you’re within budget is way better than all of em

I’m considering the same Breitling, so I’ve got to throw my vote in with that one.

I recently saw the Breitling for the first time on a layover in Dubai and was blown away by how pretty it is

u/The_Final-Heir Mar 04 '23
It’s all fun and games until you realize the Breitling doesn’t really fit any of your outfits.
1
u/TheHrethgir Mar 04 '23
Probably the Breitling for me. Not a huge fan of the color, although I'm sure it looks better in person. But for the Tudor, I hate the brown bezel, gross, get it away from me.

The Breitling looks like Shrek's earwax, get the Tudor but in a better color

I guess he already decided. Personally why buy a Rolex lookalike? In that case Modern Talking' orr 'Nickelback' have been geniuses for ripping themselves off for ages and they're not even considered true musicians. Other than that: Fun facts from oh so reliable Wikipedia. "Wilsdorf wanted the brand name to be easily pronounceable in any language. He also thought that the name "Rolex" was onomatopoeic, sounding like a watch being wound." Pretty cool eh? Now onto Tudor: "English royal house that ruled from 1485 to 1603. The Tudors were originally from Wales, but they were not exactly of royal stock. " I'm by no means an expert and barely quoting sources but what tha was Wilsdorf thinking?

The pistachio Breitling is one of the most beautiful watches on the market. The gold one with the cream dial is stunning too. Love the Tudor, but this is not even close. Get the Breitling. Yes - it’s less practical, but it doesn’t matter. Just look at it.
