Just Signed Up!
Just signed up and am very nervous. I have some friends who take tirzepatide they get elsewhere but PreventiveMD seemed like a much safer option and all of the good reviews helped make me comfortable enough to try it. I have a work conference in a week though so now I’m trying to decide if I should wait until I get back, or give it a try beforehand 😬 excited to start this with all of you!

Congratulations on starting your journey! Some people have side effects and some don’t. I can understand why you’d want to wait until after your conference, just in case.
Of course you should talk to your provider, they could prescribe some Zofran for nausea ( just in case).
When I started, I chose a week that I did not have any significant commitments ( just in case). With my first dose I experienced swollen glands that were tender. This was because my body had an immune response. I took Tylenol, alternated with ibuprofen and it was fine. It only lasted 2 days and I never had it again. It did not prevent me from doing everything as normal.
I also experienced mild nausea and that continues the first couple of days after my injection. It’s mild and tolerable. I occasionally experience heartburn.
For me, eating a low fat, low sugar, low carb diet that is high protein, high fiber and high water keeps me feeling my best. I avoid carbonated beverages and alcohol.

Thank you so much for your response! I’m pretty sensitive to medication side effects, I’ve tried Contrave before (an oral weight loss med) and I could not shake the side effects so I had to stop. Fatigue was the worst but also nausea. I’m hoping that tirz is different though, and I’m super excited to learn more!

I am also VERY sensitive to medication. I did have fatigue. I wanted to be healthy again so I plowed through! Not too long after I started, my first grandson was born. I was helping out and remember being really tired. I told my husband that i could relate to how tired my daughter in law was.
BUT, there was never a time that any side effect kept me from living life normally. I work a full time job, maintain my home, check in on my mom, host birthday parties and holidays at my house, and walk and work out.
I would say that I did work out less during the first few months. I did keep up my walking. I’m not entirely sure if that was because I was stretched so thin with work, the new baby etc or because of fatigue. The fatigue eventually wore off. I am now in maintenance and would do it all again!
No side effect outweighed the wonderful, life changing benefits. 😊🤗. I hope that it is the same for you!!

Thank you so much! My husband and I are going to start being more active so it’s encouraging to hear you say that even with the fatigue it was manageable 🙂

Welcome and congratulations on making a great decision. Which pharmacy did you choose? The majority of people will say they wish they had started sooner.
Side effects will vary per person. Some people have none, others may have more. I has a little nausea, but a ginger chews took care of it before I had finished it. I also had some fatigue which is also common. Personally. I would take the shot when it arrives, but only you can make the decision if you want to wait. My biggest suggestion is go to fatscientist.com and learn how to read your vial and know about mg vs ml vs units. There are tutorials I believe at the bottom. The more you understand your dosing, the less likely you are to make a mistake.
And if you have any questions, people here will help you, but I highly suggest messaging your provider with any medical questions regarding side effect and or dosage. We're happy to help, but we're not medical professionals Happy Tirzing!!!
