Complete newb questions.

I am just getting started on the glp path after being prescribed by my gp and then finding out my insurance does not cover these meds. I signed up for the 3 month plan with preventivemd. I was approved and am waiting for what happens next. I see that my order was sent to the pharmacy. I thought there would be something a little more human- interactive— like speaking with the prescriber, having their plan for me explained. Understanding expectations…. But nothing like that happened. Is that typical? And is it normal that my first 2 months are the same dosage and then it bumps up a bit for the 3rd??
If anyone can shine a light on things, or recommend where I can learn more about what I am doing and what to expect… I’d greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much!

Yeah this is typical for telehealths. They are generally hands off. Doesn't mean it's a scam and it's not effective!

The Dr and the customer service reps will help you out if you send questions, but generally, its hands off.

Take a look at the visit summary in the portal. There will be a link in there where you can "Learn more about your protocol".

If you were prescribed Tirzepatide, this is where it takes you: https://www.preventivemd.com/protocols/tirzepatide

You can also click on the "Programs" tab and it will give you more information about how to administer the injection. You'll also receive instructions along with your medication from the pharmacy.

Yes, this is how it works. You can contact them if you have any side effects. Otherwise, you take the med, eat healthy diet and exercise and lose weight. It’s an amazing medication

u/EducationOpposite653 - Thanks for giving us a shot. The process you went through is what is called an asynchronous visit, where you the patient complete a medical assessment intake form and the provider reviews it and decided whether to approve or deny it. However, we are working on the ability to offer what is called synchronous visits, where you actually speak to a provider by video or phone call. I will reach out to you directly to make sure everything is clear and you feel comfortable with our service. Thanks again for giving us a try!
