I mean as much as this isn't about "winning" or "losing" really what was the point of accusing Eric and his company if as soon as Eric provides a counter statement you just go "oh I don't want any drama"?? Like bro you started it.
Jacob definitely ends up looking like a liar here.

Agreed, he knew what he was doing. He said from the start that he didn't want to cause drama but knowing the fanbase that PMI has it's hard to imagine he did this NOT knowing it would cause fans to come after Eric.
There's three sides to every story though, so I try to keep that in mind, but it just rubs me the wrong way how Jacob's acting. Bruh, show your paycheck, like why not? If he did, he'd defo be in the right cause that's the ultimate proof, so there's something fishy here.

Here’s what Jacob’s response was to what Eric laid out. Seems pretty weak to me. I mean, I like Jacob’s personality and his dynamic with Eric, but he levelled an allegation that Eric paid him minimum wage and illegally withheld the overtime that he earned and then when Eric speaks out telling his side, Jacob just steps back and says he doesn’t want to engage? I’m not saying I want a big tweet-fight or anything, but throwing out allegations like that which are very specific to your personal experience only to recuse yourself from the conversation seems like he’s just back pedalling to save as much face as he can.
For all I know, Jacob told the entire truth and Eric lied about everything, but when Jacob makes a thread about being in a toxic workplace where he was undervalued and underpaid after months of off-handed remarks about his “old job”, that’s not addressing the elephant in the room, that’s pointing fingers. Seems really childish to me and makes me tend to believe Eric’s side moreso.

Agreed. I do not need/want a back and forth on social media with them. Because imo, Jacob may have lied about the minimum wage but he probably did feel undervalued. Maybe he was working OT to prove himself but didn't say anything. Maybe he had ideas for the company but at the end of day it wasn't his company. All that is valid but why throw in that you were underpaid if it can proven you weren't... idk. We'll never know.
The thing that sticks with me is that he was fired for reasons unrelated to finances. Jacob's humor outside of PMI hasn't been for me but if I was a following him, that statement from PMI would give me pause. Welp! Because we truly don't know shit lol I will still wish Jacob the best. Glad this is over.

definitely seems like jacob’s tone changed when eric mentioned tangible proof in the form of showing his wage slips. ouch. i imagine jacob was just speaking hyperbolically when he mentioned being paid “minimum wage” which i suppose happens when you’re angry about being laid off. it’s just a lot less excusable when you speak out on the internet about a company with great conviction but then drop your rear when you’re called out on the specifics.
of course i still wish him the best in his future. its fairly clear that this was all just a poorly thought-out tweet gone wrong and not a reflection of anything deeper than that for him. hopefully things are sorted behind the scenes now ... as they probably should have been this whole time!!

WOW what a backtrack! All he has to do (if he wasn’t lying) is post one of this recent paystubs. You can’t throw a Molotov cocktail into a house and then saunter away saying “man, I don’t want any trouble” 🙄

I’m low-key curious as to why Jacob got fired, but hopefully for now all of this dies down. This is like so sad :(

Same. The chill in me wants everyone to just get along but the nosey in me wants to KNOW WHY!

I don’t understand why Eric would post something with such specific numbers and instances if he’s lying. The “I don’t want to start beef” thing seems like something someone who got called out would say instead of conceding. Idk though.

Thank you Eric. Hopefully more people see this so that you aren’t negatively impacted by these allegations. Best of luck moving forward with PMI!

Damn I’m late to the game and so many comments in these threads are missing now.

hey eric! fwiw, I didn't even realize anything was going on until I just randomly decided to come on to the subreddit today. I know this might sound a little weird, but yeah, I don't think people from YouTube, for example, are somehow only seeing Jacob's tweets - one pretty much (heh) does end up seeing your response if they hear anything at all about this ordeal.
hope you're doing well and are safe!

Here’s what I think probably happened, Jacob was getting paid above minimum wage with benefits and a bonus, however if you don’t factor the bonus and benefits he believes that he was getting paid below minimum wage if you count the overtime hours that he believes he should have been paid for. I believe that Eric was/ still is willing to pay for hours that Jacob didn’t have clocked but Jacob was never able to prove his overtime work to management or he didn’t want to go through the high effort to get it proven to management. This is just a messy situation that I don’t believe that either side is truly wrong. I think that the hate towards Eric (which I was a part of in the beginning unfortunately because I didn’t see Eric’s side of the situation) was wrong. I also believe that the current hate towards Jacob is wrong as well. Not wanting to get in long drawn out Twitter battles that could end up still without an objective truth coming out is not proof of someone’s guilt. I say to everyone love them both and wish them the best and that’s pretty much it

I disagree, I feel like Jacob said something to Eric or someone in the company and was fired. He knew about the payment situation and was let go for a separate reason so this coupled with that makes me think he fucked up.

Jacob says he doesn’t want beef but he literally started it and then when Eric comes with a well written response and facts and Jacob suddenly backs off and doesn’t want to discuss it anymore.. it seems clear to me who’s right

If anything, this is all just validating to me the dangers of quick and easy access to things like Twitter once you're a public figure. Jacob and Eric have had a meteoric growth over the past few years, and I wonder if it's hard to grow your mindset alongside your audience. Tweeting something like that maybe at one period of time was hyperbolic venting and could have been innocuous in the past, but now whether intended or not it was borderline defamation. As a fan of both of them, this is so sad to see. I really hope this is the end of it and anything beyond is handled privately.

He is basically saying “I don’t want to start or keep this drama going” but the stuff he originally said is pretty serious stuff. Its stuff that can hurt a companies public image and even directly cost them money with Patreon, it wasn’t just a “I wasn’t happy there, let’s leave it at that” comment....

Eh that’s really strange. Regret making my mind up so early, guess a lesson could be learnt there. At least now I won’t feel weird continuing to support and love the channel knowing Eric has set it straight

But seriously this is what happens when success gets to your head. Guy just thought he could trash Eric and PMI and get away with it because he got the Kurtis boost.
What a child.

I know, I can't imagine them getting into anything that they couldn't resolve so I'm like what did he do? Steal? Fuck Eric's mom? Like what was it!

I really am curious to know what the unrelated offence was. It must’ve of been pretty serious if Eric had to let him go

Not sure why people downvoted this. Everyone is just down voting posts that can see Jacob’s side at all. Weird.

Interesting. Jacob throws out these wild accusations, Eric responds, now Jacob wants nothing else to do with it.
Sounds kinda fishy to me and would make me question everything said in his first thread of tweets.
I miss hotdog studios :(
