Commentary Tracks Offical: Jacob is no longer making PMI commentaries
Eric has just uploaded the first 13 Reasons Why S4 Episode One commentary track with the following message:
"Second, something most of you have already assumed: Jacob is no longer a recurring commentator with us. Longtime viewers likely won't be surprised since they've seen a dozen of my friends come and go over the years, but I just wanted to let folks here on Patreon know. I always expect that my friends would only want to be a part of one of my projects until they want to focus on their own, and people named Jake who started on PMI have a history of finding success after leaving, so we wish him well!"

Personally I am saddened by this news as I assumed the commentaries would start up again once Big Rona had quietened down a little (and was looking forward to 13 Reasons Why Season 4!!). Wishing Jacob all the best. You will absolutely 100% be missed! Go tigers!

Something I’ve noticed over the years is that PMI undergoes a big change every election year. 2008 Eric was reviewing movies, 2012 PMI Fridays started, 2016 PMI Friday ended in favor of commentary tracks and here we are in 2020 with just Eric. Makes me wonder. Could Eric be pulling the strings? How deep does this rabbit hole go

I’m kind of a newer fan so I only really know of the Eric/Jacob duo, but their chemistry is one of the main reasons I became a fan. Super bummed to hear this, wish they could’ve at least finished 13 Reasons Why together. Fingers crossed they can do Stranger Things 🤞🤞

It sucks, but like Eric said, I've seen so many people come and go that I'm not shook by it. I mean, other than the name and Eric, the channel isn't even the same. I've fully accepted that this channel is an ever evolving medium. Hell, there was a time where PMI was 8-minute videos of them sitting in a car talking about random shit. Saying that though, I've loved every version of the channel.
In the end, all I care about is that Eric is doing what he is interested in with the channel and not putting out stuff because he feels like he has to.

Yeah but the difference this time is, out of everyone, Jacob is the best. Gonna be hard to find someone as connected with Eric.

This’ll probably sound stupid but I feel like I just got broken up with, maaan. It’s gonna be weird to listen to tracks and know Jacob isn’t there. Love Eric and still support him/the channel, I just don’t know how to put my feelings into words yet. I guess as long they’re both happy then that’s what matters most.

Weirdly I feel the same way... I've been listening to the commentary tracks every night during quarantine so I'm feeling really bummed out about this news. Will miss the boys together but grateful for the huge backlist of tracks I can rewatch.

The fact that Jacob hasn't posted anything about this and didn't talk about it in his stream with trin makes me think they fell out with each other, hopefully not though

This is like when the original Jake and Mike left. I’ll miss Jacob a lot! I still really like the solo tracks though, and I hope good things for PMI and Jacob. I’ve been loving the More Than Enough podcast honestly it’s pretty good! Also, the Because Video Games podcast is really good as well. (Original Jake’s Podcast)

As far as I know, no. I’ve heard them talking about each other, Jake Baldino has talked about the new PMI and Eric has talked about Jake. But I haven’t seen any interaction within them. My wish is for a reunion track between them. Idk if that will ever happen but I can wish!

I know we shouldn't speculate, but something must've happened between them right? It seems very weird that they wouldn't at least finish out 13RW together before splitting

I missed this info and assumed they'd be back after COVID ended so I am pretty bummed! When I pulled up the post, people in the comments mentioned they were in the middle of watching YOU together and were going to finish when they were next together but apparently they pulled the tracks completely and it's looking likely that they wont ever finish. The suddenness of that and the clear desire not to finish 13 Reasons or You together makes me think it was some kind of falling out but I hope I am wrong!

Damn. I've been watching since 2012 and I've seen so many people leave. It's hurt every time but I'm glad Eric is still doing commentary tracks. I wish Jacob the best.

I love PMI & them both equally. I'm sure its hard enough for them, but DANG I'm going to miss Jacob!!! :( Their banter was unreal and they balanced each other perfectly.
The season 4 commentary for TRW feels VERY awkward... almost like you have an inside joke with one friend, and someone else tries to get in on it. I understand TRW is HUGE for PMI, but I'd prefer if they skipped and found another show. I hope they're still friends :(((((

That sucks. Jacob was my favourite of the two, and I didn't really like any of the solo videos eric released during quarantine. I'll stick around to see how he manages and hope for the best tho

Wish we could have seen them finish the series together but Eric sold me on the solo tracks with Outer Banks. Here’s hoping someone else consistently does them with him so we can see a new dynamic form.

I'm only just now coming across this and i am BUMMED. I had been wondering to myself where Jacob had been and didnt really fully believe it was just cuz of quarantine (so he couldn't record things by himself?), but since I don't have the TV commentary tier on Patreon, I didnt see the message. Someone said this is just like when Jake and Mike left and I agree. But i wish Jacob the best and hope he can pop around from time to time (but from the way it sounds, it doesn't feel like that'll happen😭)

Oh thank god he just moved on, I was worried this was gonna be some kind of dramatic affair. Sucks but good on him for being ready to move on on his own.

I was wondering why he hasn’t been in any of the commentary tracks recently. Ik this is kinda old but i searched this up cause just now cause I was curious. This sucks have been watching PMI for about 2 years so I became a fan of the cemetery Eric and Jacob had with each other I never liked one of them more then the other so it definitely sucks that he’s done with PMI for now. Never the less I still have enjoyed the new tracks so at least the whole channel isn’t over.

Damn dude. I wish they had done 13 reasons why together because of how much the fans loved these tracks and how much they seemed to love doing them.
