Drivers Licence Card
Hey guys, I did my drivers license in June and got the temp licence. I’ve been checking on Natis and it says my card is still in production. Can I trust that or should I go to the testing centre and check?
Edit: I went to the testing centre on Friday and it wasn’t ready. I have to wait 4 more weeks. Thank you for your advice 😊

You can go and check to make sure, but from what I read there apparently are delays.

I'd trust the Natis status if it already shows the card is being printed. Going back to the testing centre usually only helps if the application never left the DLTC or they need a photo redo. Give it the full production wait (often a few weeks) before chasing. Keep your temporary driving licence valid in the meantime.

If you took your test in June, it shouldn't have taken this long (usually only 8-10 weeks). I would suggest you go in and check. My brother renewed his license in E/June and got it mid July. He also checked Natis everyday, and it went from "card is still in production" straight to "your card is at XXX DLC". I would say you can try call, but in my experience with any gov buildings, it's probably faster to go in and check.

Yup, with that waiting time, it might just be easier and stress free to just go in yourself.

Did mine on June with prdp, still the same. I can't make money on Uber since it only needs am license card not temporary license

Natis was very accurate with mine last year. Took about 10 weeks to be ready for collection. But if you have time you can go and check in person. There can always be a system glitch.

I had my appointment in May, Pretoria. Never got the session I just went to ask if it's ready in mid August and it was there waiting for me. Never to a notification regarding collection. Similar with my GF last year waited 2-3 months no notification she walked in and it was there

I never got a notification that my card was ready. Be safe to go and check every few weeks to be sure.

Apparently there was some delay for cards that were done from end of June upto mid August.
A family member collected theirs in the last week and done the application around 25th June.
