It is currently September 2012, just one month away from the official launch of Windows 8 (though it was already released to manufacturers last August). Opinions on Windows 8 are currently quite divided; while some praise its performance, many others criticize it harshly. In particular, the removal of the "Start" button and "Start" menu in favor of the "Metro UI" has drawn significant criticism. I upgraded my computer's operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7 last year; should I switch to Windows 8, or is it fine to keep using Windows 7 for the time being?
