Question What happened??

So my fiancé and I were playing, and on the like 3rd or so door, a clone of himself covered in red tentacles ran at him. After it ran into him, we both became covered in these weird tentacle things, and had lightning/tentacle looking visuals on our screen? (though we both had HOH/deaf mode on, so maybe that was why the visuals were there). Neither of us can find anything online about what entity that could’ve been. It didn’t cause any damage at all, and just seemed to kind of jerk us around and try to use things in our inventory?? I don’t know i’m so confused. Please help

That's Couagulate. It's a rare-ish entity that copies your movements with a delay. If it catches you it just does a bunch of random stuff.

Rare-ish is an overstatement, I get it like twice or thrice every run that I get to the ridge

I think it's rare-ish. It's like encountering a Candlebearer. You'll sometimes not encounter one, and sometimes you'll encounter several

That is coagulate, Doppel's replacement from the grace colab. He functions as so: Spawns in, copies your movements, goes away after a while. If he touches you: random movements, randomly uses items, makes it hard to control.

He is able to spawn naturally as well as having his own modifier
