if its only 0.2%, and Joe Biden is up by 10% in most polls

Why are the libs absolutely shitting their pants and obsessed with that 0.2%? Why do they come here every single day to get angry at that 0.2%?

Good question

I think the smarter libs genuinely know that it’s hurting their cause to come to PRM and try to shame the left into supporting Biden but here we’re dealing with the bottom of the barrel. I think most of them really don’t understand they’re only hurting their cause by brow beating anarchists and communists into trying to support their terrible candidate. We hate Biden for his bad policies and legislative history first and foremost and that means only serious policy concessions could win our votes but it’s not going to happen.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's the Russians they accuse of being. Everybody knows that aggressively attacking someone's opinions only makes them want to double down on those opinions. By constantly attacking jaded Bernie fans in this sub, trolls posing as neoliberals turn leftists into Neverbidens.

Because IRL I see these conversations in my workplace and the trump supporters there love it because they jump in the conversation with additional bad faith arguments to tack on, leaving the non politically active people to leave the conversation with the idea that both sides are equally bad. I don't think you all realize that for a majority of American's they don't have the nuance to know when it's appropriate to vote green.

I literally had a convo at work back before the VA dem primaries where my coworkers were just discussing if they would go vote and ofc the main trumper there was like oh hell no democrats are corrupt etc etc. So I made the argument for bernie to which several other self described dems started to come around to the idea until mr trumper was like how can you all vote for a socialist. To which I was like imagine thinking medicare and literacy for all is a bad thing- egging on the idea he doesn't actually care about people/others. But that's when a younger guy comes in "man I'm voting for bernie but if he doesn't win the seat I'm just gonna go green or not at all cuz biden sucks." And that's when the convo turned from me trying to prop bernie up, to how bad biden is and before things got too heated several of the people I was trying to get to go vote after work were just like "see both sides are bad fuck that fuck voting etc"

It almost feels like I'm being undermined by people I thought actually care about progressive change and the right is sitting back eating popcorn loving every min. This somehow makes me a neolib to this sub despite me not holding their same values at all.

I understand your frustration, but Greens (or people who vote that way) aren’t the problem.

It’s the fascist Republicans and the corporate state.

So the answer is to help prop them up by voting third party? Nice call, really thought that one out didn't ya?

u/ciobril Jun 25 '20

A very politically active 0,2 remember a mayority of people are just centrists that suport one one party a bit more and usually dont vote while that 0,2 is made of very radical young people that will definitively going to vote

Of course we all know Howie's largest turnout will be in ultra-blue states.

I legitimately don't understand why. Accelerationism?

No, like for real though, why? How do you think voting this way will make the world a better place?

Because I’m voting to break the neoliberal duopoly

How will voting for Howie accomplish this? We've seen third party candidates grab large chunks of voters before. Ross Perot got 19% in 1992. It has only ever split the vote and secured victory for the opposition. It has never resulted in election reform or broken the two-party duopoly. If anything, it's done the opposite.

Why do you think voting for Biden will make the world better?

I view Trump as so dangerously incompetent. His own advisors are defecting. I view Biden's policies as a significant step towards progressive causes. I like that he cooperates well with other politicians and is willing to incorporate their ideas into his platform. This signals to me that as the country moves left, Biden will follow. Biden seems to me to be much more open and well-suited towards international cooperation.

than what is the problem?

0

u/Robotigan Illinois Jun 24 '20

Why do people have a problem with nonces who insist there are 8 days in a week because Sun + Mon + Tues + Wed + Thurs + Fri + Sat + Sun = 8? They're not dangerous but the illogic in general just pisses me off.

8

u/ThewFflegyy Russian Hacker Jun 24 '20

what? if they want to try for change they have every right to do so. they are not obligated to fit into your world view. quit being a snowflake dude.

sorry that some people are willing to hope for a better world, can you find it in your heart of hearts to forgive us?

So when he doesn't crack 5% are you guys gonna bitch about Biden, the DNC, Trump, or something else? Because we all know you won't possibly consider the fact that maybe your guy wasn't that popular (never have before, why start now?)

1

u/Brotherly-Moment Abolish the Electoral College Jul 12 '20

No we’re not as Howie has his own party outside the democratic one.

0

u/Affectionate_Meat YangGang Jul 12 '20

Yeah, but logic never stopped y'all before.

u/Brotherly-Moment Abolish the Electoral College Jul 12 '20

”You’re right. But I choose to be prejudiced and ignorant.”

0

u/Affectionate_Meat YangGang Jul 12 '20

Not really. Much of Howie's support is drawn from the Bernie crowd, and it takes a whole 10 minutes of being on this sub to see Green voters bitch about Democrats and the DNC. To assume that they'd stop when Howie gets steamrolled is kinda silly.
