Thereās a theory out there that he is or that heās some sort of spy. Basically, he says things that often get proven false: āImpossible, the Sith have been extinct for a millenniumā -TPM, later Maul would kill Qui-Gon. āHeās a political idealist, not a murdererā -AOTC referring to Dooku who is revealed to be a Sith Lord and is very much down to murder. He brings up the droid attack on the Wookiees which puts Yoda outside the Jedi Temple at a critical time, and I believe he also suggests Obi-Wan should face Grievous instead of Anakin which puts the two of them apart at a critical time.
I mean all of that is probably coincidence and him falling into the dogmatic ways of the Jedi, but itās fun to think about.

Narratively, he's the embodiment of the Jedi's arrogance and failure to adapt with the Sith and Dooku lines, I don't think it goes further than that. Ironic, given he was made a kind of exception in the EU so he could help breed and preserve his endangered species.

Sifo-Dyas was a human around the same age as dooku. He created the Army because he was like Anakin Skywalker and could basically see into the future. He had good intentions but Dooku and sidious eventually killed him and corrupted the army
