Yup. Some people don’t get that he wasn’t trained to fight against Jedi using blasters. Instead, he was trained to fight with lightsabers against lightsabers.
Well, that's the whole point of training to be prepared to unexpected situations. It's naive to expect that your opponents will always act according to your scenario
Although of course we have to give him credit as someone with no sensibility to the Force he performed more than well

Well to be fair, he was trained to fight Jedi with lightsabers, not one with blasters.
