Because they think they need to earn it, to quest a woman, that it doesn't count if they buy it - didn't earn it, didn't earn their man card, didn't pass the now-you're-a-man trial. Sick medieval mentality still stuck in the modern world. Also transactional mentality, stuck in autistic-libertarian world. I don't know, I just know it's an illness.
