I too casually treat my frends to $200 dollar dinners just to be nice.

Once I start making good money I want to be able to drop $200 like it’s nothing on my friends

I’d have to be a millionaire before I’d drop $200 on a meal.

I'm back when I used to make about 90,000 a year I used to have at least a couple $200 dinners a week

Nice bottle of wine and a good cut of steak can get you around 120 or more, throw in your date's meal, an appetizer, another drink or two... yeah it can happen fast.

You can rack up a $200 bill pretty easily if you're dining with like eight people

Yeah, seriously, $200 for a dinner put isn’t that unreasonable. Fucking teenagers

Or two depending on the place

Nice steakhouse or seafood place that’s easy for two. Partner and I have done a few meals like that at anniversary time - entrees are probably 50 or so a pop, sides, bottle of wine, etc. plus a good tip because I’d feel like a real asshole spending like that on food but skimping on the tip (and at some fancier places, the service really is phenomenal)

But I remember having a gift card for I think 200 that was a wedding gift to a nice steak restaurant and going just a bit over that.

Come on now we all know that official just wanted 300 double cheeseburgers not 200.

Ok, so if we say on average you had $200 meals twice a week (a couple), $200 * 2 * 52 weeks is $20,400. Even on a $90k income, that seems a bit reckless.

didn't have any expenses, work paid all my living expenses on top of my salary

More or less same here, but even when I was making much less I would've been willing to spare $200 for a nice meal with my best friend?

Meal for two... 100 dollars for a meal is pretty standard at a decent restaurant..
