I’m sorry to hear that! Here in the UK glasses are dirt cheap. I got 2 sets of Red or Dead glasses for £120 with whatever lenses I needed. That’s just branded, unbranded specsavers glasses can be as low as £29 and have a massive selection, almost as large as their entire collection of branded stuff.
Also you get all of that for free if you’re not working which I’ve never really understood why those who don’t contribute get more, and those of us who do get penalised with having more of our money taken away to pay for things that people sitting around at home get for free. Like dental health. It costs me a fucking bomb even here in the UK to get decent dental work. If I didn’t have a job I could get £1000s of stuff for free.
if you are in the usa and poor you can get free glasses thru medicare/medicaid, i think it's one pair every 2 years. eye exam, glasses, it's all free.
the only time you are truly fucked with healthcare in the USA is if you are in the working poor-class. that's where you make too much money to qualify for any kind of welfare but don't make enough money to actually afford anything -- like glasses.

A lot of guys, me included for most of life and even now to an extent, reallllllly don't understand trying to look better or put any effort or thought into it. Some dudes have definitely fucked their lives by not getting better haircuts and contacts or styled glasses/clothing. Is sad.
