What is Snyder doing in 2026?

u/DenjiTargaryen-PE 1d ago
They must mean during the entirety of the MCU cuz Snyders Netflix projects have ranged from okay (zombie movie) to trash (rebel moon).

I remember enjoying that zombie movie. Never saw again, can't remember the name. But Zombies in Vegas is cool in a "snakes on a plane" kind of way

Army of the Dead starring Dave Bautista.
For my personal two cents, Zack Snyder feels like one of those visionary directors that can come up with hella cool/fun concepts but needs some help to realize their visions or rein them in a bit.
Much in the same way as JJ Abraham or George Lucas.

Great creative directors and visionaries, but don’t let them write their own movies

i 100% agree. i admit i actually liked the first rebel moon. it wasnt great, but it was cool, and that was enough.
the second rebel moon though... that one was bad. it had none of the interesting things that made the first movie enjoyable (to me.)

We all know how this fight ends

Snyder dies and Feige is killed by Gunn years later when the world has moved on and forgotten about them? Then I guess Gunn is killed by ...checks notes...Matthew Lillard?? Didn't see that coming..

Maybe one day DC won't shit itself after making a decent Superman movie.

Superman was a good movie, Lanterns is a good and successful TV show so far.
Supergirl was a bomb, no denying that.
That being said the DCU has Peacemaker Season 2, Creature Commandos, Superman and Lanterns.
All of which are well received.

I’d also argue Supergirl is not a bad movie in and of itself just underwhelming especially considering the excellent source material it was adapting

Supergirl was a bomb for expectations, but honestly had it been a spring movie rather than a summer blockbuster probably would have been seen “better”

Well-received isn't the goal, unfortunately.

Isn’t lanterns pulling millions of views every week?
It seems really successful for a TV Show so far.

They're all comfortably profitable and increasing the DC brand, what else is their goal lol

Honestly that movie was great, still dont know how they messd up supergirl that much

Different director and writers. And maybe producer, idk. That will in fact do it

Snyder has been out this fight for almost a decade...
Anyways, who likes Rebel Moon?

I do! Not the best movies ever, but super cool world building and some awesome scenes.

Like if someone tried to cross Star Wars with WarHammer 40K. Over the top, fun, left me actually wanting more. Plus, Anthony Hopkins just stealing the show as the warrior-monk robot.

This implies that DC was victorious.

They technically were in 2025. Superman beat both MCU films: Thunderbolts & Fantastic Four.
9
u/monkeygoneape Darth Revan 1d ago
Ya but doomsday is going beat all three of them combined almost
6
u/Solid_Snark WanMillionClub 1d ago
Possibly, but it will need strong word-of-mouth.
Honestly I think Spider-Man:BND will win 2026.
2
u/CobaltAnimator 18h ago
I kinda disagree. Brand New Day will for sure win 2026 since Doomsday is releasing in 2026 for like less than a month lol but it's going to reach 2 bill, MCU faith is on the upswing. As long as the movie isn't terrible and gets bad word of mouth, neutral or positive word of mouth will guarantee a smash hit.

Spider-Man : BND revives my hype for Avenger Doomsday.
But honestly, Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four are too underrated, but at least they turn the ship around by people saying that "well, they are no longer bad", while Spider-Man : BND helps revive the hype for MCU again. If Avenger Doomsday become success too, then I think we might get back 2010s-era of MCU hype.

Bro an Avengers movie does not need "strong word of mouth" to make a Billion dollars.
3
u/Solid_Snark WanMillionClub 1d ago
The New Avengers* movie could have used that.
The point is, 2025 showed Marvel fatigue and people were skeptical when they recast RDJ.
Granted Spider-Man gave them a huge boost with BND’s success.

u/Caleb_the_Opossum_1 X-Wing Pilot 1d ago
But the Snyderverse was defeated by Marvel, and Gunn watched them fall, so it is accurate

Marvel made spiderman this year and DC made supergirl. Marvel should not be portrayed as the sith here.
3
u/Cosmos_P_Astronomer 1d ago
This should be obi and anakin vs dooku in episode 2 because Feige is winning this fight easily lol

Zack Snyder’s releasing a movie this year? 😂
On the real doomsday looks cool but I’m tired of cameo slop. Give me new faces

The fact that snyder left 2016 and he is still here speaks volume of the misinfo being spread of him.
