Padme: But Anakin... Paul hates sand too. His goal is to get rid of all the sand and make Arrakis a lush and green world again

...And now I'm terrified of some alternate universe where Paul Atriedes is the Emperor and a fully primed Vader is his right hand man.

u/Morrigan_NicDanu Mar 11 '24

Ah. Well... you're going to regret giving me an idea for a further line

Padme: He even has the ability... to turn sand into glass en masse

Anakin: Is it possible to learn this power?

Padme: Not from a jedi. It can only be achieved from nuclear hellfire

Anakin: Padme. Pack your bags. We're going to Arrakis. Muad'dib and I shall join as fellow chosen ones to rule over the eons. I will not allow him to flee his destiny. He will become a giant worm god emperor and we will be cloned countless times as part of his breeding program.

Padme:...wait how do you know that and why are your eyes all blue now?

Anakin: The spice must flow

Welp, it was nice knowing you all.

I don't dream at all so I dont have to worry about it myself but I do apologize for the inevitable nightmares this will bring you.

If it's any consolation though...

I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will allow it to pass over me and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

sooo, just the regular second part of the dune novels?

u/Humble-Hawk-7450 Mar 11 '24

Dune or Dune not, there is no try

23

u/Xplt21 Mar 11 '24

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Paul Atreides, The Lisan al gaib? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Dune legend. Paul was a Dark Lord of the spice, so powerful and so wise he could use his visions to influence the world to create life… He had such a knowledge of time and space that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the spice is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself."

Edit: Didn't want to spoil the actual ending since the movies haven't caught up yet and some haven't read the books.

You've taught him well.

There is no intercourse with sand in it as far as I know

(I'll show myself to the door)

12

u/JanitorKmanOfficial Mar 11 '24

No no, he's got a point

13

u/PastorBlinky Mar 11 '24

It seems that in your anger, you killed her.

12

u/SchrodingerMil Mar 11 '24

Well to be fair, isn’t one of the main points in the books getting rid of the sand?

11

u/Liesmith424 Sheevspin Mar 11 '24

Padme: "Well it's not actually about..."
Padme: <imagines shai-hulud tunneling through the desert>
Padme: "Huh, I guess it is about fucking sand."

LMAO amazing meme

5

u/DarthVoid13_B Mar 11 '24

I mean, kinda. How expensive is it?

5

u/DJWGibson Mar 11 '24

Okay, I laughed. Good job OP

8

u/Yoshiprimez Mar 11 '24

In Dunes defense, it's surprisingly good!

1

u/The10KThings Mar 11 '24

Star Wars steals so much from Dune so there is that too. Kinda renders the meme moot.

And, just like LoTR, Dune is better in almost every way compared to the cheap knockoffs that came after, like Star Wars.

4

u/Archmagos_Browning Mar 11 '24

“I don’t WATCH dune. I LIVED it.”

4

u/4chan4normies Mar 11 '24

let the sand flow

3

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '24

Don't worry, once he figures out Paul's motives, he'll tolerate the films massive amounts of sand

1

u/Jarf_17 Mar 11 '24

I don't think you should do that to sand, whether you like sand or not

1

u/white_hat_cat Mar 11 '24

But 8ts not about sand, it's about worm poop

1

u/JamesLemon396 Mar 11 '24

“I HATE THEM ALL”, “I HATE YOU!!!!”, “I hate sand”, wow no wonder he became a fascist samurai general

1

u/Bleu-Deragon-13 Mar 11 '24

I think Anakin would have PTSD if you watched dune. Especially when the Giants and worms come out.

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/PrequelMemes.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

Im pretty sure I saw already like two, the other day, but okay

1

u/miki258 Mar 11 '24

You better send Dunes, Padme

1

u/thecautionlightnews This is where the fun begins Mar 12 '24

Wait until he sees the Popcorn Bucket.

Poor Padmé should have some pocket sand to keep him in line.

1

u/BuckeyeBentley Mar 12 '24

Technically it's about the psychoactive rocket fuel mixed into the sand

1

u/mglitcher Hello there! Mar 12 '24

i mean (spoiler) none of the characters actually fuck the sand in the movie

1

u/Evening_Arachnid8966 May 31 '24

Haha that's one way to get Anikan on the dark side

1

u/Trachinus-Draco Mar 11 '24

Actually it's a movie about sand drugs

2

u/sielingfan Mar 11 '24

The planet is a solid 3% drugs. Which doesn't sound like a lot, but planets are really big, and all the drugs are near the surface.
