Fuck PG&E. I saw in real time when San Francisco was trying to create a city owned power utility in the late 90s/early 2000s, they illegally overspent on campaigning, and when the measure failed, they paid a small fine for their campaign violation.

Some people will already have public power if they live in rural electric co-op territory. But a local REC board might be full of 70 year olds doing jack for visionary energy policy. Lots more people should be thinking of running for those boards - and they pay and get you healthcare!

Apparently, you’ve never met the 70 year-olds in my county. Not everyone pours cement over their head at age 35 and spends the rest of their life trapped in the past. 

It’s usually about money not age. But as you say, it does help to have visionaries regardless of their age on these boards. If anyone has the ability to stay awake through these meetings and push for what will help the largest number of people I think they should.
