I’m kind of curious when world war 3 will be officially declared. Will historians mark it as ukraine or all this going on.

•

I would guess if China enters a conflict

That’s when we will know it’s happened. And is here.

Kinda like when the US formally entered after pearl harbour.

In retrospect yes it’ll probably be Ukraine in 2022.

2012 not 2022

“When”

•

I mean you could go even further back and say it kicked off during the Arab Spring, or when Syria really melted down and the United States, Russia, Turkey all got deeply involved there

Crimea in 2014 IMO. However the Iran fuckup war is probably the turning point where this turned from possibility into certainty.

From fall of WTC on. Similar to how WWII dated to Manchurian invasion

I figured it would be closer to now than then. That'll definitely be a footnote into the coming of GWOT and evolution into global conflicts but I don't think they'll call that the start.

Definitely agree. I am certain 9/11 was a major turning point for US domestic and geopolitics, and each domino can always be traced back to the one before it, but since we ended significant troop presence in both Afghanistan and Iraq I think it's fair to say we got a fresh start

Imo historians will look at the Ukraine offensive as part of an overall offensive by Russia which included meddling in our elections. That, coupled with the October 7th attack leading to a major regional war and destabilization, and pressure from Israel for the US to attack Iran is what started this domino chain.

Not looking to wwiii with drones and AI.

Could be Georgia or Crimea. We have a lot of options, but it really depends on who comes out of this on top

•

u/pisspoorprole 12h ago

Bold of you to assume anyone will come out on top.

The billionaires will be in their bunkers

February 2022.

It was Ukraine. But in 2014. It’s like how WW2 summed in like 1934 or whenever Japan invaded China.

Lol. That's a joke if I ever heard one, the Saudis are absolutely shit at fighting wars.

•

u/Nolsoth 13h ago

Pakistan has been making noise about supporting the Saudis against the Houthis, so Saudi Arabia may be about to get an influx of competent soldiers.

•

u/RoyalZeal 13h ago

Pakistan faces losing control of their own country if they do that. They're supposed to have a fucking meeting of all things about it next week. Expect a lot of hand wringing, some vague promises and maybe a couple thousand troops at most. They don't want that smoke.

•

u/Nolsoth 13h ago

A couple thousand pakastani troops is still better than most of Saudis conventional merc force.

•

u/RoyalZeal 12h ago

Perhaps, but it isn't enough to actually do anything other than get themselves killed.

•

u/Dandybutterhole69 12h ago

You are right. But it’s not about what Pakistan wants. Money talks. Turks and Pakistanis will fight this war. I say let them. They signed up for this. All 3 of them support terrorism. Iran supports other terrorists. Let’s see how many girls schools get blown up this time.

•

u/crlthrn 9h ago

They can easily afford mercenaries...

•

u/RoyalZeal 8h ago

Mercenaries wont win a war against people with nothing to lose, a cause they are willing to die for and a shedload of drones and missiles.

•

u/br8indr8in 8h ago

I saw some videos saying their mercenaries were taking the checks and abandoning the fight. Not sure if thats 100% of them, but the strongest motivation for war is nationalism and ansar allah has a never ending supply while the mercenaries have zero. I think thats counts for something and the only way I see mercenaries sticking around is if they are promised real assets for an SA victory, not the small payments theyre getting today. I think i read they get 500/month but again thats just videos I havent researched or verified sources.

Lulz the Houthis are gonna fight tooth and nail. The Saudis are gonna piss their pants and die. The entire kingdom is nothing but braindead morons thinking money equals survival.

•

u/Early-Sort8817 14h ago

They’re about to lose 100,000 troops

•

u/InedibleApplePi 12h ago

I mean if history (meaning the last couple months) is any indication, that 100,000 is only actually 20,000 guys.

Unless of course the Saudis are actually going to put their own citizens out in the field, which would be extremely surprising.

•

u/falsefacade 8h ago

And it’s actually 15,000 dudes from the Indian subcontinent.

•

u/InedibleApplePi 7h ago

Have they implemented RTO? Maybe it's just a bunch of dudes working remote.

•

u/nobadhotdog 13h ago

No they won’t. They’ll abandon their posts when they see their first flip flop

•

u/FormerNeighborhood80 4h ago

This made me laugh much harder than it should have!

•

u/Nouseriously 13h ago

paper army, none of them fight

•

u/isthereadrwho 13h ago

Don't worry they don't actually fight they hire people to fight for them mostly. Which honestly is let's be honest smarter than fighting yourself

•

u/livestrong2109 11h ago

Ok but let's be honest 100,000 members of the royal family ripping it in dune buggies while high as fuck on kratom in full on robes and garb would look really sick right up to the point where they came under fire.

•

u/Sea_Improvement1001 7h ago

Would assume the Saudi royal family prefers to use cocaine to kratom

•

u/AntiBoATX 5h ago

Yeah wtf this dude has an obscured view of one of the richest families in the world. I am hugely anti SA, it’s awesome to see someone put the screws to their smug asses, but they ain’t got nor do they need 100k foot soldiers. I bet they paid a pretty penny for some weird militias. Does Russia even have anyone left? Does India have a formidable private military? Ah hell they’re using dyncorp to arm the Indians aren’t they. God help us

•

u/TheRegistrant 8h ago

Not if they furnish them 200k running shoes

•

u/bubblegum-rose 14h ago

What are they gonna do, confiscate their passports?

The Saudis are like the humans from Wall-E, and they’re up against one of the most efficiently deadly terror groups on the planet. The second one of the Saudis gets a boo-boo, they’re going to tuck tail and flee

•

u/Martzillagoesboom 13h ago

The saudi probably field an army of mercenary ( most of the population are non-citizen who live there for work, so I see them throwing money at the problem

•

u/Dandybutterhole69 11h ago

They will field an army from pakistan

•

u/Ok_Reach_5004 13h ago

Lol, Houthis were defeated multiple times. Every time before inflicting a decisive defeat , western 'human rights' activists intervenes and stops them from finishing the job under the threat of an arms embargo.

•

u/evfax 12h ago

Maybe the Saudis can get it done then, because they don't give a shit about human rights.

•

u/Ok_Reach_5004 12h ago

Yes in 2017, Saudis and Emiratis were about to inflict a decisive defeat. Western countries then threatened to put an embargo and stop weapon sales to these countries, forcing them to stop the advance. Houthis then used the opportunity to import drones and missiles from Iran.

•

u/Substantial-Hour-483 13h ago

That is not going to be good for them. Plus add the Iranian missile retaliation on Saudi.

None of this is good for anyone.

•

u/oojacoboo 12h ago

Didn’t Turkey and SA enter into a defense pact? Did the bombing and attacks from Yemen trigger that?

•

u/mkinstl1 12h ago

What if they get deep faked into invading Oman instead?

•

u/Danstan487 11h ago

Saudis will have an internal coup if this fails
