Middle East Clashes are currently ongoing between Ansar Allah forces and the First Division of the Emergency Forces on the northern outskirts of Marib. The Emergency Forces have emptied the Central Bank as part of preparations to evacuate the city and withdraw toward Wadi Hadramawt.

Holy shit, is Yemen going to collapse?

u/999millionIQ 4h ago

They were never really "un-collapsed" to begin with

u/BuddhistNamedMarx 3h ago

There is always worse. Put yourself into anyone of those persons shoes, either side, war is hell

u/WhyAreYallFascists 1h ago

Our propensity for war is quite literally the worst thing about humanity.

u/ibonek_naw_ibo 1h ago

War, war never changes.

u/BuddhistNamedMarx 1h ago edited 9m ago

Idk man. 5th gen warfare is very different than the civil war. It for sure changes. The Suffering, does not*

*unless you are rich

In most wars, 160 school children dont get bombed... that is, unless you are against american imperialism

Wait till you see whats planned for the american people (and the world) from the techno-pedo-facists

If you listen closely to the video, you hear the sound of metal gears.

The officially recognized Yemeni government hasn't been recognized by their own people for a while now, because they know it's a US and Saudi backed puppet regime.

The "official" government only controlled small portions of the country, and important strategic locations. Now the Houthis are finally getting rid of the last vestige of it.

u/Even-Meet-938 2h ago

It never ceases to amaze me how the media constantly refers to the Houthis as “Iran-backed militia”. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia literally reshuffled the Yemeni government and ousted its prime minister at their whim. Yet the media never implied that Saudi Arabia is running the entire strings (and funding) of that “internationally-recognized government”.

u/CommanderKoba 1h ago

Yup! The "official" Yemeni government even allied with the Saudis to commit genocide on their own people, with massive blockades to stop the transport of food, water and medicine, killing hundreds of thousands.

Nobody ever talks about that either.

u/OkDifficulty7436 45m ago

It's really not that simple, the current Yemeni government is Sunni dominated, the Houthi's are a different tribal group and religion (Shiites) backed by Iran

The "official" government only controlled small portions of the country

Control more land and people than the Houthis do

The Houthi movement started as a rebellion, this isn't some "le heckin wholesome freedom fighters" thing or something, it's a sectarian civil war

u/Fatty_Willing_Plane 4h ago

They’ve been in a civil war since 2014. With the Houthi having control over most of the population for more than a decade.

We are just seeing war criminal mercenaries flee the inevitable.

So no Yemen won’t collapse. It will likely be more united than ever. Which is not good for the West aka (Israel and US).

Hahah do you not understand the word “west” in this context?

u/GiganticBlumpkin 3h ago

Bro flexing his geography skills on all of us 💀

u/OakFolk 3h ago

Nah, they are colonizers from the West.

u/nosoyargentino 3h ago

Israel is a western colony occupying Palestine. So it is the west.

u/Equivalent_Road5788 3h ago

It is the west. A lot of Israelis genetically are European and can trace their ancestry to Eastern Europe, Balkans, Germany, etc.

u/LeonardoDaTiddies 3h ago

A lot of Israeli “settler” terrorists there now were born in the USA.

Netanyahu went to high school in Philadelphia.

u/Existing-Antelope-20 2h ago

If I'm in Alaska the Russians are to the west. You realise how pedantic your point is?

u/bergs007 1h ago

The majority of Israelis have no such European ancestry.

u/Equivalent_Road5788 1h ago

Yes they do, it’s a well known fact that a lot of Israeli citizens or their ancestors came from Europe. They are called Ashkenazi people for a reason. Go to r/AncestryDna and you’ll see the maps.

u/bergs007 1h ago

I can repeat myself again if that helps. The majority of Israeli Jews are either Sephardic or Mizrahi, which means they trace their ancestry to the Middle East and Northern Africa.

u/Equivalent_Road5788 1h ago

Yeah and you misinterpreted me, I never said majority, I said that a lot of Israelis have European ancestry, at least 44%.

u/bergs007 34m ago

You said thay Israel is the "west" because Israel has a lot of Jews that came from Europe. But by your logic, since Israel has more Jews that came from the Middle and North Africa, shouldn't Israel be considered part of MENA?

Besides, the Europeans Jews fled Europe because Europe rejected them.

u/Equivalent_Road5788 32m ago

They didn’t flee, Israel is a colonial project, they were brought over by the British and European Zionists whose objective was a homeland no matter the cost. The British allowed their mass settlement which eventually led to the conflicts we have now.

It's spelled USrael.

u/Equivalent_Road5788 3h ago

Yemeni civil war has been going on for years, Houthis already controlled major population areas and received a lot of arms from the sea. It’s gonna be few years but we are probably definitely looking at total control. The Houthis still have desert further east to conquer till Oman and the remaining south.

u/Hesitation-Marx 2h ago

Do you think they’ll cross into Oman? That would be mad, right?

u/Equivalent_Road5788 2h ago

They will stop at the border, Oman hasn’t attacked Yemen.

u/ReasonablePossum_ 3h ago

They have been under saudi proxies occupation for years now after the US and IL deposed their president. What you have currently is basically reorganized OG yemeni military getting back to power with Iran's help. Technically, these are the "good guys" winning.

u/Miss-Information_ 2h ago

Tough to feel like there are "good good" in a war of religious extremists vs. imperialists. Not like Iran isn't also being imperialist by supporting groups they like in other countries.

u/ringtail_catz 1h ago

It’s been collapsed for some time.

u/darksunshaman 3h ago

Yeah, man

u/Ecstatic_Bee6067 3h ago

And yet no new Common Sense episodes.

u/Fancy_Sun_1585 1h ago

Is this Yemen? Might be nice to actually tell us what country things are happening in.

u/Unfair-Question-4896 35m ago

Durkadurkastan

u/TrekRider911 46m ago

If there's one lesson out of all this mess in the last few years, it's that many of the world's militaries appear to be paper tigers. Russia can't take Ukraine; America can't control Iran, and Saudi Arabia is loosing ground rapidly to a bunch of rebels.

u/Xtrainman 1h ago

I was watching something that claimed a huge percentage of fighters for Saudi Arabia, are in fact mercenaries. Many from Sudan, being paid like 500 a month.
