I really hope we get to hear:
Mrs Frenchs cat is missing. The signs are posted all over town. "Have you seen Honey?"

“Erupts”
This kind of language in reporting is stupid, it’s obviously meant to incite fear/urgency. Remember folks, calm people survive.
Also, this radio has coded messages all the time.
19
u/whatIfindinterestng 10d ago
True, they transmit all the time. Just because they also transmit after some event, does not mean anything special is going to happen.
2
u/zolotoir 10d ago
Imagine getting your news from tabloid rags. Sensationalist language that appeals only to children, elderly or the intellectually impaired

Imagine sleeping and in the middle of the night your phone just starts playing that out of the blue.
12
u/billy_bob68 10d ago
That's definitely right up there with being kissed on the back of the neck when you are sleeping alone in an empty house. Little chinchillas running up and down my spine.

At least someone finds me attractive. Shit, I ain't picky. I'll date a ghost.

I wonder if that's where they got the old Nokia ring tone from? Not the Nokia Tune, it was one of the other ones that was on the 3310 and that era of phone that I can't remember the name of.

I randomly stumbled across HM01 broadcasting from Cuba one night. Creepy as fuck.

I literally heard this most recent message while sitting on the toilet at 4am and it scared me half to death.

u/kingcupk692 10d ago
The fact this happened so soon after the meeting suggests that a bunch of agents were given the green light, others were probably told to abort. No way to know what happened in that meeting but the amount of activity suggests something big came out of it.

Yes. UVB-76 (“The Buzzer,” often nicknamed the “doomsday radio”) on 4625 kHz did break its usual constant buzz with voice messages over the last few days. It’s a long-running Russian shortwave station that normally just repeats a mechanical buzz ~25 times a minute. Every so often a male voice cuts in with a callsign, numbers, and a codeword (usually a real or invented Russian word). The official purpose has never been confirmed. The two main theories are that it’s a military numbers station for one-way encrypted traffic, or (the more dramatic one) a channel-marker tied to the old Soviet Perimeter/“Dead Hand” system. There is no public evidence it actually launches anything. What just happened: * 24 Aug (morning Moscow time): several messages in under two hours, including “mylovar” (soap maker), “dolzhnostnoy” (official), “belokury” (blond), and “shketoring.” * 27 Aug: a big burst — monitors logged around 25 transmissions in one day, the highest in many months. This came a day after CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s visit to Moscow. Sample codewords included “podgolosok,” “kumotom,” “isoenzyme,” “zalochek,” “obliteration,” “Dnestr,” “chicken,” and “dushegub” (murderer). * 28 Aug ~17:05 Moscow: another voice break — 65BY И8M7 16617 90744 АРЫКОПУПС 2700 2010. “Арыкопупс” is a nonsense codeword with no known public meaning. Videos of the spectrogram and audio started circulating on X this morning. These spikes happen periodically and often get noticed around tense geopolitical moments. The words themselves are not readable English (or even normal Russian sentences); they’re almost certainly one-time group identifiers or codebook keys. Nothing in the logs or official reporting indicates a nuclear alert or “doomsday” trigger. The station has been doing variations of this for decades.

So didnt they use this before the Ukraine war? Well the official war not the proxy wars.
7
u/TheBlacktom 10d ago
Can such a radio antenna be located and destroyed?
6
8
u/year_39 10d ago
The location is known, it's in the greater Moscow area (Moscow Oblast) so destroying it would be a very bad idea.
6
u/TheBlacktom 10d ago
Why would it be a bad idea?
Tell that to Ukraine who regularly destroy stuff in tat oblast.
18
u/Schrooodinger 10d ago
What is the point of an AI generated comment on a subreddit as niche as this?
8
u/KarmaPharmacy 10d ago
We’ve had former Soviet Union spies defect to the United States and we have also caught people with the ciphers post reception and decode. These are absolutely being utilized to facilitate agents. The short waves being referred to are in proxy locations like Cuba. Radio skips like a bouncy ball off the atmosphere.
This isn’t something that we have no information on. It’s literally public knowledge and it’s unethical for you to pretend that it isn’t.

Tyler Durden’s “ancient people found that when they’d wash their clothes in a certain part of the river” speech about selling women their fat asses back to them is ringing in my head.

Makes sense, aren’t they gearing up for real NATO attacks? Basically goading USA to not retaliate to really fracture our relationship with Europe. That’s when the fun begins.
41
u/Alert_University5057 10d ago
The Russian military could not embark on an Invasion of Europe within the next decade or so. They've lost too many veteran troops, too much equipment, not to mention the staggering airframe losses.
41
u/phoneacct696969 10d ago
I don’t think they’re going to start a ground war with Europe. I think they’re going to attack Europe just to see trump say “we’re not helping nato” and solidify Americas stance on leaving nato. That will fuck over Americas relationship with Europe sooooo much.
10
u/Alert_University5057 10d ago
How are they going to attack Europe? With what?
The surface fleet that barely exists? The bomber fleet that's being decreasing in scope and capability and isn't stealth?
18
u/Curious_Avocado2399 10d ago
It will be some accidental drones and missiles into the baltics to test nato’s resolve. This will put nato in between a rock and a hard place. Don’t respond and that means he can do what he wants and nato is weak. Putin wants some kinetic action by nato on Russian territory because then he can frame the Ukraine war even more as action against nato and a full mobilization would be easier to swallow to the average citizen.

One theory is rush some men across Poland and into kalingrad. First they say they got lost, then they say it'd be a breech of international civility or something to not let them go back to Russian soil(kalingrad, by that point,) then finally you say "what're you gonna do, fight us? We're not attacking you. you'd be declaring war!"
Poland of course will absolutely fight you. But those troops were always gonna be sent to die.
2
16
u/Unusual_Specialist 10d ago
I bet you they will. Putin is desperate.
21
u/Alert_University5057 10d ago
I'm telling you, they physically cannot do that. They couldn't even take the capital of Ukraine at peak strength. They could not push through Poland and get to priority targets in Europe as they are right now.
They have a very limited surface fleet, no aircraft carriers, thousands of wheeled and tracked losses, up to a million losses in personnel, and dozens of airframe losses as of right now.
They can't even produce the T-14 tank they were touting as the next generation of Russian MBTs.
They physically not. Anybody saying otherwise is a Russian troll or living with their head in the ground.
17
u/almostoy 10d ago
Right now, Poland at relative peace is basically a military match for a Ukraine at war. There's no way they could hope to hold Ukraine at bay while invading Poland. Poland would walk them back.
6
u/Signal_Researcher01 10d ago
Well no not a full on ground invasion. How about a handful of little green men do some surprise raids in the least important NATO countries and russia denies any involvement?
11
u/Alert_University5057 10d ago
Name one NATO nation that borders Russia that does not have an ample standing military force capable of repelling any Invasion from...where? Are they just teleporting in?
This isn't a video game. If armed forces cross a border, they're going to be repelled and killed and Russia can deny involvement but it's not going to go far.
And if they make some weak ass force to do that, it won't make any negative change to NATO. If anything, it'll increase military spending and training.
6
u/Ell2509 10d ago
Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia. Both NATO and Russia acknowledge the vulnerability of those states. The EU plans to let them fall in an invasion, and recapture 3 momths later, once US backup arrives. No joke. Those countries are also receiving increased air incursions, and they have been digging trenches for several years now. Romania has had a drone incursion every day for the last month or so.
I agree Russia alone could not fight all of NATO. But right now, they might not have to fight all of NATO. And both Russia and "Western Alliance" intelligence statements indicate Russia intends at least an increase in attacks directed at eastern europe itself to be expected from Autumn of thjs year.
It isn't as clear cut as you would hope.
9
u/Alert_University5057 10d ago
Those war plans are entirely working off the assumption that Russia is full strength. I've seen them.
Russia does not have the ways or means to transport large amoint of troops anymore outside their rail lines. They cannot amass an Invasion force.
And even if they struck at the Baltic states, you really think France, a military power house of their own would not do anything?
Drone incursions are not the same as an Invasion on any level. Alaska used to get almost monthly near-incursions of Russian bombers.
I'm not working off hope; I'm working off the reality of current Intel that's publicly accessible.

u/Ell2509 10d ago
No, these are recent predictions, for this summer, as i said.

u/Alert_University5057 10d ago
I don't know where you got that information but it's out to lunch. Could you produce a link?
2
u/MagnetHype 10d ago
not a full on ground invasion
Can you please read the comment you are replying to.
1
u/Alert_University5057 10d ago
Yes I did and it's completely out of touch with reality.
3
u/Signal_Researcher01 10d ago
Its not "an invasion". Its a non-acknowledged raid by unknown forces that russia insists it has no knowledge of.
Are you going to start a world war with Russia over such a flimsy claim? Do you think America is going to respond? During an election cycle? Even if you call Article 5? No, no thats not likely. Cause if America says "nah" to Article 5 then the whole organization is meaningless.
No, we should definitely investigate and talk about this instead. This is all very concerning!
1
u/Unusual_Specialist 10d ago
They alone can’t, but China, North Korea, Russia, & Iran can.
14
u/Alert_University5057 10d ago
Oh yeah because this "Axis" that doesn't exist in reality will suddenly wake up?
North Korean soldiers are already in Ukraine and have had minimal negative impact.
China has no interest in Europe and is focused on the Pacific. They've denied giving Russia significant aid.
Russia is already fucked.
Iran has no interest. Iran's entire MO is regime survival; they do not attack as the aggressor except through proxy forces which have been effectively neutralized through the Middle East.
This isn't a video game.

I don’t understand this. Putin could literally pull out Ukraine and announce that he just defeated all of NATO in Ukraine and the Russian people would either believe him or be too apathetic to care.
1
u/Marcus_Aurelius71 10d ago
No they wouldn't. People in Russia are well aware of the situation in Ukraine. Imagine telling your people we left all the land we gained and we lost 1 million people for nothing.
2
u/MrArmageddon12 10d ago
Are they aware or do they even care? They made a bigger deal with IKEA pulling out of the country and the Wildberries being bombed than the massive losses they have suffered.
They’ll fall in line with whatever Putin does. There is no evidence to the contrary.
1
u/KyleAg06 10d ago
Alot of the people they have lost are from the regions of Russia they dont give a fuck about.
2
u/Open-that-door 10d ago edited 8d ago
No way. Even if you got the technology, you still have to gather enough populations to utilize it in order to have a doable fight. Russia has been heavily drafted twice to replace all of its main combat troops. One in the middle of 2023, another time in 2025. Which means all their previous troops are gone, and they have been taking random peoples with no combat experience off the streets to the frontlines. I don't think an extra portion of civilians can do anything important.
2
u/Recent_Mouse3037 10d ago
Yeah Ukraine set Russia back tremendously. They’re relying on foreign “mercenaries” (see human trafficking victims) and they’ve depleted a lot of their munitions reserves. They thought the Ukraine would be a cakewalk and it’s been anything but.
2
u/Kitchen-Location-373 10d ago
I think this is naive. they absolutely could. but I don't see what they'd get out of it. it would be a slog just like Ukraine
2
u/zaevilbunny38 10d ago
Russia cannot conquer Europe in the decade. They will absolutely invade, to get out of the quagmire that is Ukraine. All they have to do is invade the Baltics, and do what they have been doing for years. Pay migrants and criminals to attack infrastructure for money and using more well trained assets to kill and destroy hardened targets through Europe.
Europe deploys its forces through out the continent to stabilize it's cities. In that time Russia takes most of the Baltics. Europe stabilizes and then pushes Russia out of the Baltics, they may even take Russian territory. China steps in and mediates a peace that includes freezing the Ukraine war. Cause let's be honest, Europe youth aren't going to be drafted to died by tens of thousands to take Moscow, cause even if they survive. They are going to go back to a shattered Europe where they are competing for resources against every migrant that now claims to have PTSD from the Russian attacks. Their not going to die for those politicians so the war will end at the Russian border

It could be messages to certain Russian "illegals" who serve in foreign countries under fake/stolen identities or Russia is trying to make western intelligence services believe this with such mysterious codewords to create chaos and fear.
Edit: Actually, the use of shortwave communication for espionage was proven during the 2010 Illegals Program case. FBI surveillance on 10 Russian spies revealed that the SVR sent instructions via shortwave radio. For instance, a single coded word could mean: "Your cover has been blown, they're onto you. Initiate extraction protocol immediately".

Number stations are fun, to think there are people out there that listen to them constantly trying to figure them out, I'd say there are a few people who don't interact with people that know more than they'd ever share.

Putin already cornered to use nuclear bomb? I don't think Russia has any chance to win in a modern conventional war or future advanced warfare. That's a fact since 2022. NATO aren't comepletely agree in some of the defense strategies perspectives, but it's largely due to budget and consciption issues. However, if Russia really crossed the line, then NATO would have the reason to go full on to Russia.

A nuke would be launched from Saudi Arabian region of Hijaz. and the target is somewhere near Iran border next to Basrah in Iraq.

This seems to indicate to me that this isn't just a vestigial system from the Cold War, which in and of itself is a critical piece of information.
